“Not quite sure”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

Twixmas getaway just to be aware that I think both myself and husband where probably one of the youngest there ( early 50's ) .so if you are looking for a mixed crowd at this kind of time you could be lacking.
Food good ,room lage size and very comfortable we had an upgrade with our deal to a Signature room in the east wing .Although we did enjoy ourselves I certainly wouldn't return if I was paying the full price which I believe would have been £618.for the two nights and at 362.00 I still think is over priced .Drinks at the bar where not overpriced as in some other hotels.
Entertainment was good and very mixed and I can see why this would appeal to the older generation .
Ben the compare is clearly used dealing with all ages and handled things very well.
The service at the night time in the resturant was very slow and things where missed by the staff .
All the staff where very friendly and welcoming .
Bedroom facility's also very good tea /coffee and biscuits each day.
There was quite a bit of noise coming from the floor from the room above just the walking about ( heavy footed )

Room Tip: stayed in room 141 very quite .

My Sister in Law and I stayed at Nidd Hall Hotel Harrogate North Yorkshire at Christmas. We stayed in a Historic Room it was First Class and the views onto the lawns and gardens are .beautiful. The rooms are decorated to a very high standard, beds are real comfy ,ensuite smashing and rooms so warm. Meals are good and the staff are lovely nothing is a much trouble for them.
Entertainment was great by staff and visiting artists. Can not wait for a next visit. Thank You All

Room Tip: We stayed in a Historic room on the second floor, super views of the immaculate gardens . very quiet...

we have just returned having spent 2 nights at Nidd Hall,it was a twixmas break with a 60s theme, first impressions wow,our room was number 166 in a signature room facing gardens it was a modern room with all the little extras like coffee/tea making facilities.Lovely toiletries and fluffy very white towels, spotless bedding and the room very clean. We arrived at lunchtime so had a snack in the bar a sandwich and chips nicely served by very obliging staff, all the staff were helpful and could not do more for you, made you feel welcome from us stepping in with the reception staff and all of the staff say hello when they pass you.The first night entertainment was a comedian who was so funny and all new jokes for a change, and the entertainment staff quite professional did a good job.Didn't have a good nights sleep the first night as i was too warm but the second night just got the blanket out of the wardrobe and slept on top of the bed with just the blanket /fleece and had 8 hours thats a good night for me,The evening meal was good service a little slow but the dining room was full and the staff did a good job.Breakfast was superb with everything anyone could want, but my partner who is Scandinavian would have liked some kind cheese ,but thats petty and there were plenty other nice things to sustain him.So to sum up Nidd Hall brilliant time, would i go back ,yes for sure 100%,

This was our fourth visit to nidd and were welcomed on arrival with mulled wine, mince pies and hot chestnuts. We stayed in an historic room, number 7 which was large and comfortable with views over the gardens and lake beyond.
Ther was a tribute band on each evening, Abba, Queen and Bee Gees all of which were of a good standard but we have seen better.
The food we thought was excellent with well cooked good sized portions.
We used the spa facilities which were very good and clean but the sauna and steam room are very small and did get busy.
We took part in the wine tasteing session on Saturday afternoon which was very informative and great value at only £5.
The hotel is well positioned for visits to Harrogate 10 mins, Ripon 15 mins and York park and ride 45 mins. Pateley Bridge on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales is a lovely little village and worth a visit.
Overall a very enjoyable stay and hope to be back again soon.

Room Tip: If staying in the main hall ask for a room overlooking the gardens

We booked Nidd Hall because it was my husbands 65th birthday. He called them after looking on the website, to make sure we got a room with no stairs involved. After speaking to the lady he was offered a room that was £40 cheaper than the website! It is a big hotel and our room was quite big and was well equipped. We enjoyed the entertainment both nights and thought they were very professional. The food menu is a choice of being served or some different dishes on the buffet. We chose to be served and the food was nice and hot. We enjoyed the whole 2 nights but, on reflection the drinks were expensive and we could have done 4 nights at a Shearing hotel for the same or less money.

Room Tip: Rooms with courtyard would be nice in the summer.

Dont know about the other reviews but we found this the most awful Warners ever and have stayed at these places since their original camps in the 70's. This was the biggest disappointment we have ever had on a Warners holiday (Just when we took friends to introduce them to this type of holiday) The rooms were very cold but otherwise they were fine. Evening meal was hit and miss depending on what you chose. Entertainment so so. The breakfast was awful the orange juice was like water, they told us the machine had gone wrong. The coffee tasted like chicory and the toast cold. I did complain but was told that was the coffee they use but would inform the manager of our comments. The star attraction had been in an accident so they brought in a substitute which was the most awful unprofessional cabaret act I have ever encountered.(and I was an entertainer myself once appearing at these type of venues). The history trip was good and the quiz at tea-time was a nice break to the day as well. In the ballroom you were lucky if you could find a spot that didnt have a cold draught and wasnt comfortable at all. The place is in a lovely setting but really management need to look at a few things and tighten them up. The entertainment group were alright but as professional as Thoresby Hall that still being my favourite. Hope Warners dont cut back too much and spoil things. Did like the little plays put on in a daytime they were very good. Lets hope my next holidays which are booked with Warners are better.

Room Tip: Pay a little bit more for a higher class room worth it.

Your break does not sound like it was up to our usual standards and therefore I apologise. I can understand your frustration linked to the main act not being available and I am sorry the replacement was not up to scratch in your opinion.

I will take your feedback on board and pass to the relevant team members.
I really do hope you will give us another visit as I can assure you this does not sound like a typical Nidd Hall break.

We stayed for 2 nights early December, and had a room in the courtyard area. The room was excellent, our only complaint was it was a little too cold as there was only one radiator in a huge room and draughty windows. The food was very good in the restaurant but the size and number of people at each meal time made it very difficult for the staff to give a higher standard of service. The concert room seemed to be the only place to get a drink during the night, even though there was a lovely bar in one of the period rooms, but never seemed to be open.
