“Perfect for a family break”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2014

We stayed here for 4 nights in April after spending 10 days in a cloudy Adelaide on a trip to activate our visas. It was perfect...accommodation was clean, spacious for 2 adults and 2 children and fully stocked with everything we needed. I even managed to wash most of our clothes before returning to the UK which was a godsend! We were right next to the heated pool which was lovely as the bigger lagoon pool was just a little too cold for me! Location-wise, it was ideal as shops were readily accessible and the walk along the river was just idyllic. It was not as crowded and touristy as Noosa Heads and was just what we needed. When we move to Oz next year, we will definitely be coming back for another vacation. Also, try the pizza/Italian restaurant adjacent to the complex (next to the burger bar) - owners were really friendly and offer a discount for Islander resort residents. All in all, a lovely stay and we were sad to leave.

Dear Mr and Mrs 'Wozzie'
Thank you for summing us up so well, and for the lovely feedback about our resort, our location and the cleanliness of the villas. The heated pool is great this time of year running at 30 degrees!
Safe travels and we look forward to welcoming you back to stay. Bula Cathy

I stayed at the Islander Resort with 2 friends for a weekend get away. The resort was situated close to all shops & restaurants and was a short taxi ride to the main Hastings Street in Noosa Heads. Alternatively you can get a ferry to Noosa which is a great way to see the river! The resort itself was excellent! We stayed in a 3 story town house, the accommodation was very clean & comfortable and had everything we needed. The resort staff were very friendly & happy to help. The resort also had 3 pools which we took advantage of. There is a small cafe attached to the resort called Moondoggys, it offers lovely food perfect for breakfast or lunch. We had an extremely enjoyable stay!

We had a very enjoyable stay.
The pool is fantastic, and the kids loved it.
Rooms are great, with everything you need and it's so nice to have a full standard kitchen, although if you don't feel like cooking there is a vast selection of restaurants right at your door.
Staff where helpful and friendly. We had a lovely 3 nights. Thank you.

The location is unbeatable, walking distance to everything, great restaurant / cafe options at your front door, moondoggies cafe do amazing fresh juice. The resort is well maintained, beautiful gardens and the main pool area is clean and great design. The spa's however and the the two smaller pools not so clean, they have lots of floating bugs and plants and debris on the bottom that you can feel with your feet, these areas need some attention. The spas made my skin itchy and irritated, yuk, went each spa once only, didn't risk them again. Now on to the rooms, we stayed in unit 10, the rooms are dated but they have everything you need, except the rooms don't have balconies, they have a tiny little table at your front door, so there is no relaxing outside at all. The beds are my biggest complaint, my goodness they were like sleeping on concrete slabs, if you value a good nights sleep, then unit 10 is not for you. The single beds were marginally softer but not much, I have never had such an uncomfortable night sleep at any motel / hotel or resort and I stay at many resorts / hotels. This is an area that needs to be reviewed urgently.

Dear Mr Sneeky76
Thanks so much for the feedback, its great you enjoyed your stay and the central location. I am sorry we didn't know about the bed as we could have provided a softer comforter to sleep on. Please let us know next stay so we can look after you

I have checked our logs and our spas are cleaned and dumped regularly to check the floor bases. As well as the manual checks we do, our spas use state of the art automatic dosing and chemical feeders . However, as per our signs extended stays greater 10mins are not recommended in a spa because of the chemicals required to maintain spa hygiene. As our spa is continually automatically dosing before it reaches any critical imbalance it is unlike other spas that do not have this feature and are only manually adjusted with chemicals once a day and probably early morning. Its likely possible that previous spas you used were the latter and thus less irritation to your skin as they are not automatically dosed every few minutes - good if you have sensitive skin but not a clean spa environment at all.

We are thrilled you enjoyed the juices at Moondoggy's and the team were very happy to read your comments.

Thank you again for staying and our apologies about the bed.

Great value resort. Would definitely stay again.

We got a great deal on a three bedroom apartment for six nights in the low season, about half of the french quarter rates. Location was great right in the middle of shops and cafes, across the road from the river. Moondoggys cafe is a must, great muffins, coffee and service. Its part of the complex so you can charged it up to your room. We had brunch there on our first outing on day one and it put us in the holiday mode straight away, nice coffee and colouring in for the kids.

Kids love the pools and spas, hard to get them out. There are two other smaller pools in the complex if the big lagoon pools are too much and you're chasing the kids around them.

Our apartment was right next to the pool, it was basic but adequate. One small bathroom (good shower pressure), main bed downstairs and two bedrooms up with open balconies out to the lounge. Carpet and furniture seemed a bit dusty, could do with upgrading/cleaning. Beds ok supportive but not luxurious.

If the rooms were a bit newer this would be a 5/5 rating, but then the price would probably be higher too.

Final word... great value for money.

Moondoggy's were delighted to hear you enjoyed Chefs home made muffins and our coffees and send a big woof to you all to thank you

We try to represent good value to guests so it was very pleasing to read you believe this to be true.
I have asked Housekeeping to check your villa given the comments regarding dust so thank you for this feedback.

Thanks you again for being our guests.

Snuck away for a long weekend to Noosa, and chose islander based on price and some good reviews. Our two bedroom unit was clean, well equipped and roomy - if a little dated. The location is perfect with no car required. Bus stop and ferry right outside and an easy stroll to loads of restaurants and bars. The pool was fabulous. Hard to fault at the price and we will definitely make it a regular getaway spot. Thanks for the friendly service too!!!
