During our holiday lots of people appeared to have problems obtaining their rooms. Too many for it to be an occasional mistake so this needs to be sorted as people expect to stay in the accommodation they have booked. Many appeared to be taken to Laganas to a completely inappopriate hotel which we also would have been annoyed about.
We arrived early in the morning (around 6.00am) and were told our room would be available around 2.00pm. This we understood as we had read our accommodation voucher correctly and the first night of our holiday was the Friday night after us arriving Friday morning. Simarlarly at the end of our holiday we had to vacate our room at 12.00noon but wasnt picked up until 3.00a.m the following morning. This we again understood from our paperwork and was able to use the shower of friends we had made during the holiday so not a problem. Alternatively, you could pay to keep the room on.
The food was, in our opinion, very good for an all inclusive. Yes we got fed up at times so ate out some evenings. The bar closed at 10.00pm which is early, but you have to rise to the challenge of drinking fast before it closes, then move to another bar as we didnt want to pay for drinks from our hotel.
The rooms are dated, but clean, and the location is absolutely perfect....so close to the sea and the restaurant is open air and also very close to the sea.
All this for £519 for 13 nights all inclusive (including flights and insurance) Take off the cost of the flight means that we paid £27 per day for our accommodation, food and drinks.
Greece is a very relaxed place to be. No one rushes you, no one expects tips and the island is so picturesque, our trip to shipwreck will leave us with very nice memories.
Back to the hotel..... Because of the confusion about rooms, holidaymakers very quickly made friends with each other swapping stories of their experiences.
This helped to make a brilliant holiday during which we laughed and laughed and laughed.
I agree with another reviewer, it was like being on an episode of Benidorm for 2 weeks. Some days we didnt want to leave the pool in fear of missing some fun or argument.
We went on some nice relaxing walks, a jeep safari and a lovely boat trip.
The walk into Laganas was nice along the coast. Laganas is very quiet in the day but at approximately 4pm all the youngsters come out for their breakfast!
Absolutely loved our holiday and came home happy and well rested.
I think people do need to be realistic about what to expect for the money they pay. If you go with that attitude I'm sure you will have a good time.
