“Great stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2013 for a stay in October 2013

I have stayed in the Malthouses before and look forward to returning. The cottages are really comfortable and well furnished and looked after. The situation is good with secure parking and the convenience of a bus at the top of the road right into Bath city centre.

“Brilliant stay”

We had a wonderful short break at The Malthouse in May. The accommodation is clean, well maintained and everything is thought of - even down to the welcoming bottle of wine and biscuits!! A real home from home. Ideally situated to catch the bus into Bath, so much better than taking the car. Overall would thoroughly recommend.

“SPLENDID STAY AT MALTHOUSE 1 IN BATH”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2013 for a stay in June 2013

My family had a wonderful stay at Malthouse 1 and couldn't have asked for more. The place is clean and cozy. Bath towels and clean bedsheets were provided for our family of four. There was even a loaf of bread, milk, and a bottle of red wine provided as a welcome gift.

Place is easily accessible as long as you follow the instructions to the place. Neighbourhood is quiet and not far away from the nearest restaurants about 10 minutes away by car.

Will surely consider trying Malthouse 4 if we ever visit Bath again. My wife is already planning for our next trip to London. Maybe..... next Spring????

Liked best: The attached bathroom for the master room and the separate bathroom for the guest room.
Liked least: Built-in dryer in the laundry washer. Not completely dry even after several spins.

“Wonderful - a little diamond. Highly recommended”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2013 for a stay in December 2012

This was our second stay in No 1 The Malthouse in Bath, having first discovered it and stayed there in November of 2011. Each year my Mum, sister, niece and I book a Christmas shopping weekend and for the two previous Christmases, we have come to Bath for the market. We looked at the options of hotels & Travelodges, but it's not easy to accommodate 4 ladies together and we wanted to spend as much time together as possible.

The Malthouse provided the perfect solution for us. Situated a 5 minute bus journey from the centre of Bath, it was the perfect accommodation. Terri & David were very helpful. The booking and payment procedures were very straightforward and they were open to negotiation over dates/times of arrival & departure. A comprehensive email with the gate code and door entry instructions enclosed was sent out in good time, and the property itself isn't hard to find with a sat nav.

Beautifully laid out, with secure parking too, The Malthouse properties all look lovely, although we have only seen inside No 1. The welcome basket of goodies, including bread, milk & wine was a lovely gesture and other essentials could be picked up locally.
The decor of the apartment is very classy and so welcoming. The heating was easy to use and it just felt homely straightaway. We didn't want for anything - everything was on hand.
The Malthouse is clean and nicely decorated. All of the facilities work well and we enjoyed our time there very much. Having one ensuite room and a family bathroom too was handy, especially with 4 women getting ready in the mornings!

I would highly recommend the Malthouse. It represents real value for money, in a super location. We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

“Charm, Clean, Spacious”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013 for a stay in February 2013

We stayed in The Malthouse 1 property (there are 3 other apartments) in a gated property off the road. Make sure you ring Terri or David before arriving as you will need a keygate code to enter through the locked gate and the keycode to access your apartment. The key in the lock needs some patience and gentle persuasion .

Bedrooms and bathrooms are downstairs and living area with kitchen lounge and dining area upstairs. Stairs are a spiral staircase and if you have trouble with going up and down stairs this maybe a problem.

Wi Fi was excellent and easy to use as was the washer dryer.

I have a very high standard when it comes to cleaniness and this apartment has certainly been well maintained and cleaned. Apartment 1 has a huge corner lounge which is large enough to seat 5 comfortably or two adults fully streched. The decor, furnishings, bedding and towels are of good standard.

The double beds and pillows are comfortable, however the quilt on the beds should be one size bigger (DB to QB) as they don't go down the sides of the bed enough, so when your partner/spouse rolls over, your quiltless.

The welcome package was very much appreciated and one of the many nice little touches that welcome you into this beautiful well appointed apartment, the bottle of red wine was delicious. The kitchen has just about everything you need, except micrrowave dishes and a potato peeler(or I couldn't find them).

We drove around looking for a supermarket and found a Co-Operative 1.3 miles (5min drive) St Saviours Rd, Larkhall, which had everything we needed. Directions would be helpful info in the apatrment directory.

If your going into Bath for a look around, leave your car in the secure parking area at the Malthouse and take the No. 13 bus, 15 metres to the right of the entrance lane from the apartment.

These apartments are a must stay when in Bath. Apartment 1 was exceptional value for money, clean spacious and has charm.

“High quality apartment in the style of a cottage”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013 for a stay in January 2013

Booked the Malthouse 1 whilst visiting Bath in January 2013 and was more than happy with the property.

Having visited Bath and booked hotels in the city centre before, my wife and I decided to book a hire car and venture further out of town to see what our money would stretch to. The answer was that for a few extra miles out of Bath and a hire car which, although not essential, is recommended, you get a beautiful, cosy two bed apartment in a private gated, location of four similar properties which have all been renovated to a very high standard.

Before arrival we phoned the owner who gave us the codes we needed for access to the gates and the property and once inside we were glad of the welcome pack to allow us to make some a tea and toast after our day of travelling. There was a small issue with the freeview box and wi-fi connection, but this was quickly ironed out, and apart from this, there were no other issues during our 3 night stay. The apartment itself was finished to a high standard and fitted out with all mod cons

We picked up an extra couple of essential items from the Morrisons supermarket a couple of miles down the road towards Bath and although we ate out most of the time, we were glad of the self catering facililties on the occasions when we didn't want to venture out.

Having visited Bath before we were keen to explore the surrounding area and found the Malthouse to be a good base for visits to places such as Laycock and Bradford-upon-avon where we enjoyed a couple of delicious pub lunches. The property is obviously most convenient to Bath itself and although driving and parking is not completely straightforward in town it's hardly rocket science either and I would not discourage people from taking a car with them.

All things considered, a good option for those wanting to trade a decent hotel room in town for a spacious two bedroom option on the near outskirts. Batheaston itself is not much to right home about, but as a base it is, I feel, a good choice and would be suitable for first time visitors to the area as well as repeat offenders such as myself
