“Peace and relaxation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2013

This hotel was recommended to us by friends and we are delighted to say that we would have no hesitation in returning or trying an alternative hotel in the same group. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The food was excellent and menu varied while also catering for my gluten intolerance. The staff were friendly and efficient. As for entertainment, we made our own - relaxing under the stars in the rooftop bar - hotel entertainment a little "dated". We stayed for a week all inclusive and found plenty of variety in food and drink and only left the hotel to take a wander along the beach to the village to buy gifts...lazy days!

Room Tip: Room 318 was excellent - beautiful view and no noise.

Not a UK four star, but what sets this hotel apart is the location. The cove and beach it sits on is stunning. Sunsets make you want to stay forever. Great pool area and beach bar. We went all inc but ate out three nights foe a bit of variety.

Room Tip: They all had sea views!

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 2 weeks in September and were really pleased to have chosen this hotel.

Our room was a good size, clean and comfortable. What more could we ask for? I have seen reviews where people said that the room either wasn't cleaned daily or the tea and coffee wasn't replenished but while we were there that wasn't the case.

Neither of us are fussy eaters so we knew there wouldn't be a problem with the food. Quite the opposite actually, we found the food to be very good with a nice wide choice. The freshly made pancakes and french toast for breakfast and pitta at lunchtime were great.

There was a wide range of drinks included in the all inclusive with the cold beer being a favourite of mine. I can't see how the spirits can be watered down as some people claimed - I saw plenty of new bottles of spirit being opened and poured straight into someones drink.

The beach area was very relaxing and yes, there are some steps from the pool down to the beach but I'm not exactly the fittest person in the world and I never had a problem.

There were lots of wasps around, but that's Corfu! Nothing to do with the hotel.

The rooftop bar was a great place to relax with an after dinner drink with some spectacular sunsets.

This is not my first holiday to this hotel or island, and whilst I love it I do think there could be improvements. For example I do not think that Bingo more than twice a week or at all constitutes good holiday entertainment!! I want this hotel to embrace its very Greekness and stop playing to the blue rinse and bubble perm brigade!! I love this hotel and the staff are SO lovely. They are friendly and attentive without being false and nothing is too much trouble.
The rooms are good if not Platinum standard. Be careful going into some of the rooms due to ill fitted units which prevent the door opening fully. The beach is lovely and the sunset is to die for. My husband and I went for a totally relaxing week holiday, where we could read, sunbathe and swim and just spend time together. It was a great chill out holiday for us.

Room Tip: All rooms have a sea view!

First of all we would like to thank you for taking the time to provide us your feedback. As we are in the process of designing our updated services, your comments are considered as extremely helpful. Rest assured that I will pass your positive remarks over our hotel management and of course our colleagues as well.

Regarding our animation program, we have already adressed your comments to our Director of Operations as we are in discussions with our animation management partner in order to create our new program orientation.

Once again, I would like to thank you and of course we are really hoping that we will be able to welcome you once again in one of our resorts, in Crete, Corfu, Kos.

Hotel has been taken over an expanded since our last visit, Thompson classify this as a premier hotel but we did not think so. Our room was large but the bathroom was not very clean and the pillows on the bed left a lot to be desired and we had to request more from reception. The food is excellent but the dining room is a disaster. We stayed for 7 days and on three occasions we had to search around for a table and the noise and clatter makes meal times something not to be enjoyed which is a shame because the dining room staff do try hard. It seemed to us that the management was almost non existing.
When walking down to the pool area there is a very strong smell of sewage and the so called beach board walk had a gap of some 30 metres which makes the whole thing a bit of a waste.
I think the hotel has cut back on staffing levels and that shows in room cleaning (or the lack of it)
This is going to be our last visit to this hotel but not possible to this resort.

Room Tip: Dont stay there

Dear Ken & Val ,

We are of course disappointed to read that your holiday experience in Aquis Agios Gordios did not reach your expectations. We always try to identify what has gone wrong and whether there was a lack of service by our side.

With regards to your comments over the room cleanliness, rest assured that all of your notes have been addressed to the Operations Team as they are reviewing each separate comment. It is actually an important point of consideration, as we our room and general facility cleanliness have been highly rated via our guest questionnaires and we are running several inspections during the season in order to evaluate and rate the service performance.

Our management team has been changed the past season and we do understand that there has been a differentiated approach. We agree that not all hotel management members have the same PR skills and there are different approaches as from the previous management teams, however the majority of our colleagues works within the property for 25 years and are more than familiar with our services and enjoy our appreciation and of course our full confidence and trust. We clearly understand that personal contact and relationship with all clients is crucial, however we can verify that the required attention by each member of our staff is being perceived in order to maintain and exceed our guest’s expectations.

We have certainly well noted all these points you mention with great attention as the last thing we want to see happening is valuable guests getting disappointed with our hotels standards. We really hope that we will have the chance to welcome you once again in one of our resorts.

Went here for a week on 8th October. This is a great hotel with great food in fact the food was fantastic, great choice and great service every evening. I really can t imagine anyone posting bad comments. There were 6 of us all togther and all tables are set for 2, they made us a table up on arrival each evening and nothing was too much trouble. The views were great and our friends stayed in the bugalows, these were really modern and situated a 5 minute walk to the hotel but really nice. The only downside was 2-3 days of showers but only to be expected this time of year. It was really warn though even in the evenings. The hotel is just a 10 minute walk into Agios Gordios Town where there are lots of shops and bars although quiet in October, I would imagine fairly lively earlier on in the year. Thank you Agios Gordios and all the staff.

Room Tip: Most rooms have a great sea view, with hairdryers, airconditioning and kettles etc.

We took notice of most of the TA reviews and have to say that the majority of people have this hotel and location just right in giving it 4/5.
Location excellent in its own bay/cove with a great beach front location.
Agios Gordios is nothing much to write home about if you like loads of things to see and do. Just one main street but with sufficient bars and taverna's, especially those right on the beach.

Main hotel very good, good sized rooms and very clean. We stayed in Room 2012 with balcony and sea view.
Good hotel pool bar + separate beach bar. We stayed AI and well worth it given the time of year.
Food excellent with loads of choice for each course. Just managed to make use of the outdoor dining for breakfast and lunch but just too chilly in the evening.
We were dead lucky with the weather - 26 to 28 degree's. Sun gets onto sun deck/patio and beach around 11.30 at this time of year. The week before they had thunderstorms and rain.

Only real downside to this break was the prevalance of mossies, they were out for blood every chance they got.
Suggest you take good reppellant, a plug in for your room and good after-bite gel/roll-on

Dear Bittlenutuck,

Thank you for your feedback, it is never enough to receive such extended reviews about our hotel since the small details are the ones that make us differ and help us improve the quality of our services.

We are glad to hear that you had a great holiday experience. I will also make sure to pass the compliments about the staff and I thank you on their behalf.

We make every effort to ensure that our guests enjoy a positive experience with us and even your comment over the mosquitoes is an issue that shall be considered by us. Of course we always offer advice to our guest during their stay in order to prevent severe incidents as it is of course a natural phenomenon that takes place during summertime and autumn as well.

Of course we are really looking forward to welcome you once again in one of our resorts in Corfu, Crete, Kos.
