Me an my husband spent our summer holiday at Jason Hotel form Ypsos, Corfu Island. We bought our holiday 6 months earlier, so we were looking forward to get there. The hotel is located at 500-600 meters away form the beach, up on a hill and the driveway to the hotel is very steep. But, do not be intimidated by this because behind the hotel there are some steps that connects the hotel to the beach and promenade street (these make your walk easier). At first, we were given a room on the ground floor with direct entrance from the courtyard, through the balcony. We were very disappointed by it because inside smelled very bad and we had nowhere to dry our towels given that the balcony was quite the courtyard. In addition to that, we felt really isolated from the rest of the hotel. To get an idea on the room assigned, I have to say that to get to it, you never enter the hotel, but going allong to it you can see the room somewhere in the back. Be aware that there are three such rooms!!!! Fortunatelly, Mariella who runs the hotel was at the receptin desk that day an after a few discutions with us, given that no other double room was available, she decided to give us the apartment from the last floor for the first 3 nights of our stay without extra paying !!! So our problem was successfully solved this way! From the balcony, we could see the great mountains and the hotel terrace! We spent the last 4 nights of our stay at Jason Hotel in a standard double room at the first floor! The view from here was even greater because we could see the mountains, the sea and the pool, all togheter. Speaking of that, the pool is great, sorrounded by mountains and green cypresses. The rooms furniture is quite simple, old but reconditioned. Rooms are cleaned every single day. If you get the room through a travel agent as we did, you must know that the AC in not included in the room ratio. The breakfast was ok but the same every morning and without any vegetables and olives. Can you belive that? We were in the land of olives and no olives were served at breakfast.
What really bothered us here was that some tourists were very noisy, especially at night. They even punch in the door in the middle of the night, ie at 3 - 4 am. It's hard to believe that nobody at the reception do not hear, given that the hotel only has 3 floors. So, we haven't understood how they could have such bad behaviour the most of nights we stayed there, without anyone to get their attention.
Tinally, in August, Ypsos resort has great night life with beach parties, tavernas and clubs.
If you thavel with some firend of yours and want to get neighboring rooms, write on the reservation...
