“great Hotel and resort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2013

We have just returned from a 2 week holiday staying at the continental. We booked a package through Cosmos, which worked really well. Great transfers and timings.
There were 3 of us in a family room, this was huge, bigger than some suites we have stayed in, lots of wardrobe and shelve space, small kitchenette area but full size fridge. Big shower room, this had the usual shower curtain - Greek style, and could probably do with updating but there was always plenty of hot water and good water pressure too. Kept clean and tidy and with fresh towels every day. We had a big terrace with lovely views out to Telendos, we didn't get the sun on our balcony which wasn't a problem for us, it would of been too hot. The air conditioning worked really well, and stayed on when not in your room which was lovely, this was included in the price. We paid extra for a safe - 5 euro a week which is a bargain, and we also had breakfast, this was the usual continental style, cold meats, conrflakes, etc but was a good enough selection and plenty of it, the only let down of this was it finished at 10.00am and was a bit of a rush some mornings.
The pool area is lovely and quiet, which is good because if everyone in the Hotel used this area there would'nt be enough umberellas, the pool is quite shallow and small but enough to keep cool
and was also nice and clean.
We loved Massouri as a resort, and the views over to Telendos are spectacular. There are plenty of excellent restaurants and bars, too many to mention here but I can give plenty recommendations if anyone wants one.
Massouri beach has dark sand and can be pebbly in places, we always sat by the Cantina beach bar - great music and we used here to buy drinks so the loungers were free. The sea is very clean and clear, but it was cold even for August! ! Lovely once you were in though.
We had a wondeeful holiday and fingers crossed we will be back next August. Any questions pleasd ask.

Room Tip: Family rooms are a very good size, We had lovely sea views. Pool view rooms may be a bit noisy duri...

Stayed at the continental for a week mid June. Hotel and room were spotless. Breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice. Staff were all brilliant. The view from the terrace/pool/bar area is stunning. Would highly recommend this place to anyone.

This hotel is a nice place to stay, we spent there 10 nights and we were completely satisfied. We arrived at 8 am and our room was ready, even though the check-in time is around noon. It was a pleasant surprise for us.
The hotel is clean and tidy, its terrace is huge and it has wonderful sea and mountain view. Rooms are not large but big enough (we didn't spend that much time indoors anyway), aircondition works very well and the room service is perfect. The weakest point of the room is its bathroom - it's not beautiful, but it fullfills its purpose. There is a TV (but we didn't use it at all), a small fridge it the room, two saucers and two small glasses, we found it as quite convenient; unfortunately there is no knife neither a corkscrew. Breakfast is from 8 to 10 am, it was nice even it was still the same, there were quite plenty to choose from; we used to have our breakfast in the terrace with all that splendid view. There is a bar next to the pool, they offer whatever you want to drink there (their frappe was the best I had on Kalymnos). All staff was really nice and helpful.
I think the Continental hotel is a good option, its price is favorable in relation to the service level.
TIP: Rent a bike and go to the Palionisos bay (turn right in Skalia and cross the hill). There is a wonderful little beach protected by the coast with calm water, we totally fell in love with it and went there three times. Fifty meters from the end of the asphalt road, there is a small taverna called Paradise, currently without a sign; its owner, former sponge-diver Nikolas is a very nice old guy who will tell you something about the bay, about sponge diving, about sponges etc., and he also cooks - we had few wonderful greek dishes there.

Room Tip: I strongly recommend the sea view rooms even if it's a bit more expensive. The street where the...

To come to Hotel Continental late in the evening expecting whatever a twostar hotel can bee, it was a true surprice! Beautyful estetics outdoor and indoor, spectacular terrasse and garden area. Wonder why there was almost no gests there in the evenings.
The stuff was nice and very helpful night and day!
Nice and clean breakfast and diningarea, no warm breakfast but boiled eggs. But all you need anyway.
The room with nice furniture, good bed and very clean! Aircondisjon that worked as it should. TV but no controller..
Only 1 bad thing in this hotel: The sink in the bathroom was clogged and the showerhandle was old and looked not clean like the rest of the bathroom.
The singleroom had window to a building near by, not very cosy, and very small view to the see. But it had a balcony with a table, ok. Ask for a room with seaview to and you'll have marveles views to the sunset and Telendos.
I recomand a trip over to the island Telendos near by, nice, quiet and fun and nice daytrip for adult and children. 15 min with boat and 2 Euros.
The people of Kalynmos seems specelly nice and harmonic - very helpful, you can trust them. I had guessed this hotel to be a 4 star.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with seaview, nice sunset and garden. There is a door from streetlevel to bring our l...

There are not many hotels in Massouri/Armeos. Most accomodation are appartements. There are also no luxury hotels there but a number of fairly cheap and good value for money hotels.
Continental is one of them. We stayed there on a package tour to Kalymnos and were not disappointed. The rooms were clean. Air Condition is included (not always the case in Massouri Hotels). There is a pool and a bar but no restaurant. This is not required since there are many nearby. Service was friendly and adequate. No problems with the english language. The breakfast contained what you needed. It started at 8 am. which is OK for non-climbing visitors, but since Massouri now is a rock climbing destination for a large part of the season you would like to have breakfast a little earlier in order to be at the climbing areas early in the morning when it is cool and they still are in the shade. This is my only "complaint" about this hotel.
If you make individual reservations make sure you get a room with sea view. We did not but since some norwegian friends found us because they passed by when we were sitting at the balcony towards the street it was very good for us this time.

My husband and I stayed at the Continental Hotel in Massouri for 5 nights in July. The hotel was perfectly clean, the air conditioning very effective and needed as it was in the high 30s so we slept very well. The neat little kitchen, behind a shutter, with fridge was a perfect size for the room and the fridge was full size so fitted bottles of water, wine etc easily. The view from the room is lovely with Telendos peeping over the pool bar roof. The view from the pool back towards the crags is also stunning as you cool off in the pool after a lovely day under the shade of the trees on Massouri beach (7 euros for 2 sunbeds and umbrella but we used the trees for deep shade). The beach bars are all good and friendly. Busy at the weekends in July but this just adds to the ambience. Talking about Ambience...the Ambience bar on the left as you are coming back from the beach to the hotel is fab. What a stunning view from their balcony. Great places to eat... Zorba's, Miltos, Zorba's on Telendos, the Aegean of course (but book a table by the edge of the sea and it is a bit pricier), the 'goat restaurant', not sure of its real name but it is a bit further on the right past the hotel towards Emporias, Psiris, right on the water's edge in Melitsachas, a 20 min walk through Massouri and Myrties, Archipelagos, Stavros and Maria...in fact, we ate at a different restaurant for 8 nights before we started to repeat visit. Lovely beach at Emporias and also Vlihadia. We hired a scooter each from Mike's bikes-great fun! (and we are in our 50s!).
Kalymnos is now our favourite greek island.

Room Tip: Just ask for a sea view and you will be looking at Telendos

Exceeded my expectations. I stayed for 4 nights.
The views is 10/10 from the large pool/deck/bar area. Pool is large and great for kids as only 1.1m deep.
The staff are very friendly. Especially the bar staff.
Rooms are good for the price.
Would recommend.

Room Tip: I stayed on the pool area which was more convenient. I recommend this
