I love this hotel!
We stayed there for the 1st 2 weeks in June, the weather was lovely – most of the time! – and the atmosphere around the hotel was quite and relaxed.
Our room was gorgeous, we were on the top floor so had lovely sea views in the distance and sunshine on the balcony in the afternoon. It had the biggest bed I have ever slept in and very good air conditioning which also comes free of charge. I didn’t have 1 nights bad sleep. A table and chairs and a settee were also in our room for more comfort. The bed was down the far end next to the balcony doors and the kitchen was at the other end of the room which consisted of 2 ring hob, sink and fridge with cupboards full of all the crockery etc that you would need. I wouldn’t say it is a good kitchen for cooking large evening meals, but for breakfast and the odd lunch it is plenty sufficient! The bathroom was lovely, fully tiled with a double sink and all the amenities you would need, including a hair dryer on the wall in front of a large mirror. Also we had complimentary toiletries which were a nice touch. Also we had a large double wardrobe where the safe was housed (also free of charge).
There were a few flights of stairs up to the top floor, but I don’t think they are excessive and shouldn’t put people off having a room up there. You can make your way down outside, so that way you only have to go down 1 set of stairs, and the rest is a paved hill down to the road.
On the ground floor of the top level bedrooms there is a large room which had toilets and showers for the pool and also a table tennis table which was good fun, especially on the rainy day we had!
The pool area is gorgeous, lovely comfy luxury sunloungers with pool towels supplied. Big parasols and a little table too. We never struggled to get a lounger by the pool and I think the hotel was full so in high season I’m sure it wont be a problem either. There are plenty of shaded areas to sit also with big comfy chairs. The pool and bar area are next to each other and they have chilled out music playing all day, some of the music was made up of my favourite songs ever so I was in my element!
The bar serves drinks all day, they are abit more expensive than the other local bars, but if your staying somewhere as nice as this, you cant expect them to be the same price as the bars which belong to 2 star apartments down the road. I thought it was a shame that more people didn’t have a drink in the bar at night. We had one nearly every night, and also had a few really good nights in there! You will often see all the family gathering for a drink and to socialise! Also the food served from the ppol bar is simple but very nice, we had quite a few lunches here.
The hotel is situated bang next to the bus stop and about a 10 minute walk to troulos beach. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance – ours being Nectar & Amvrosia, a must visit!!!
I cant finish this review off without praising the staff and owners at this hotel, they are all wonderful people who are so kind and generous, I am very happy to say I have met them! Oh and make sure you try one of Giorgos’s cocktails!!
I would return in a heartbeat, and hope that in the near future I do go back!
