“Fantastic Holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2011

Just enjoyed a fantastic two week holiday in The Filia Studios and Apartments and can't recommend them enough for those of you looking for a relaxing holiday in a fantastic location. Chris and his family along with the views from the balconies make the short but steep climb up to the Filia more than worth it. As it's been mentioned, there is a slightly longer, less steep route back up but by the end of week two you'll be running up the steep route!. It's a pleasant 10 minute walk to the beautiful Troulos beach.

If you are intending to do some catering for yourselves, it's worth taking a tea towel and hand towel as these are not generally provided in Greek apartments. The accommodation was clean and bright and there was always a plentiful supply of hot water. Air conditioning and safety deposit boxes are available for a reasonable charge if required. There are enough sunloungers around the pool with cushions for added comfort.

Chris is an excellent host and provides a wealth of useful information and along with his trips eg. Ag. Eleni beach either during the day or to see the wonderful sunsets, you won't get better service. The once a week Greek BBQ is to be recommended for the wonderful food that Filia prepares and it gives you a chance to meet fellow holidaymakers. Filia also prepares excellent home cooked meals on other evenings too (best moussaka I've ever tasted on all our Greek travels).

We really appreciated the lift back to the airport too rather than wait for the tour operators bus as it means you can check-in in advance of the crowds.

Thank you Chris, Rebecca, Filia and all the family for a fantastic holiday.

Carol & Murray

Room Tip: Recommend rooms 1-4 for the wonderful views and large balconies.

We have recently returned from a fab holiday at the family run Filia studios and apartments. Great location, short walk to the beach, supermarket and a number of Taverners and resturants. Excellent home cooked meals also available on site from the pool bar. The owners are very welcoming and will do anything all they can to improve your stay. The accomodation is clean and spacious with everything you need for a self catering holiday.
We would recommend Filia to anyone, we had a fabulous holiday and will be returning again soon.

Just come back from 2 weeks at Filia and simply had the best time. The family are really welcoming and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Christos and Rebecca are a lovely couple and they looked after us really well. The accommodation is very well situated up a steepish hill but the sea views are worth it! This place is particularly good for couples wanting to recharge their batteries. Christos will organise anything from a day sail, car hire or just a trip to town or the local beach to watch the sunset. He knows everybody and can always get a good deal for you. We really felt at home there and will definitely be going back soon!

Just come back from Skiathos - been to all the Greek Islands - they are all good but this one is the one we will be returning to. The Filia studios are great - lovely location in Troulos. Our room was lovely and clean and had all the facilities we needed with a fantastic view of the sea and the surrounding countryside. Chris and his family were fantastic - so helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The pool is great - loads of sunbeds so you are never without somewhere to lie and lap up the Skiathos sunshine.
The food at the pool bar is scrumptious and it is a great place to end an evening if you want to go out for a meal or into Skiathos Town which is close by and only 10 mins on the bus. The bus service in Skiathos is great - the drivers are so friendly and it is easy and cheap to navigate yourself around.
Can't recommend this place enough - rooms were spotless and cleaned every day that we were there - the shower in the bathroom was lovely and always had hot water (and even a shower curtain! which is almost unheard of on the Greek Islands). Barbecue night once a week is a real laugh and such a lot of fun. At the end of the holiday Chris ran us to the airport so that we beat the Thomas Cook bus and were already checked in and having a coffee before everyone else arrived - you can't say better than that for the service we received.
The beach looks as though it is a little way from the Filia but after the Thomas Cook Rep explained the short cut we were all set. Some great restaurants around but our favourite by far was Ratatouille - especially the grilled Feta cheese which I am already missing!
We absolutely loved it all and are already looking to book for next yearl!!

Just returned from two weeks at Filia Studios. After reading all the sensational reviews we were afraid the place wouldn't live up to expectations but it was even better than we expected. The owners are so friendly, Chris is a brilliant host even the dogs are gorgeous! Studios are very clean, shower was fantastic and even came with a curtain! The view from the balcony was to die for and was well worth the climb up the hill of death! Weekly barbecue is a must, great fun and great food. All in all a fantastic, relaxing holiday, PS Chris and Rebecca make a lovely couple xxx Caroland Dave

It's all been said in previous reviews, but I'm going to repeat it anyway, as anyone who has stayed here knows what a wonderful place these apartments are. The views from the balconies are breathtaking. The rooms although basic and Greek style are very clean and adequately equipped to meet most persons needs. Christos and his family go out of their way to ensure all guests have a good time. The pool area is wonderfully presented and very pretty, and there was never a problem obtaining a sunbed. Heart attack hill looks very daunting when viewed for the first time, however once you tackle it it's not too bad, and myself and partner have left our fittest years behind us a few years ago ( A jug or so of the local wine tended to even the hill out a little). The BBQ/Greek night is a must, the food is excellent and all of the family attend to ensure you have a great night. We could go on and on with praise for these apartments, however the best recommendation we can give them is to say we are going back for two weeks later in the summer and can't wait.

Filia Studio Troulos
It didn’t take long to get to the Filia and as said on TA we were picked up by the lovely Christos in his mini bus to take us up to the studios. He carried our cases up the steps to our first floor room Room No 1 which was very light and airy with lovely bright Orange & Yellow matching curtains & bed covers, with three beds, bedside table, and a dressing table & wardrobe. As you entered the room there was a kitchen area with fridge, cooker (yes cooker which we didn’t use) kettle and enough crockery/cutlery etc. The bathroom was off this with the normal shower etc, there was always hot water even sometimes the cold was hot due to the weather being hot. Now for the view from our balcony again AMAZING this is by far the best view we have ever had just to sit on the balcony having breakfast or just a drink was a joy so quiet with just the birds, those cricket type things (sorry can never remember their names) the sheep, and occasionally dogs barking. The pool was a very good size with plenty of beds you never had to get up at the crack of dawn to make sure you got one, there is a Jacuzzi which was nice and Christos will switch it on if you ask as if you want anything just ask and he will help. The bar also was a nice size and the food too was good although we didn’t eat there too often as we like to try different restaurant. We did have breakfast a couple of times which were very good, also the Moussaka is delicious. And a must. Also a must is the BBQ. For starters there is a big choice to choose from and you can eat as much as you like, then for the main course you choose beforehand from about 5/6 different dishes, next you get melon + honey type balls this costing 14 euro’s including wine a great night with Greek dancing after with the obligatory dancing around the flames. I have to mention Fila, and the rest of the staff they make you so welcome. A must is go to Agia Elina to see the sunset Christos will take you in his mini bus. Lyn & Roy Robins

Room Tip: Just email Christos We had Room No 1 IMO the best
