After a 2hr + transfer,we arrived at the accomodation.First impressions weren`t bad,as i guess we were just happy to arrive and settle in. I ordered a cup of tea for my wife and i at the "restuarant" at a cost of 4 euros !! Aircon is 5 euros per day.
Getting to our room, the facilities were very, very basic and the furniture very tired. There was not even a kettle for hot drinks only a milk pan.The only redeeming aspect was the presence of a television which was useful when winding down at the end of the day.It also helps dampen the noise of the dogs up the road, which bark continually into the early hours.
Location of "hotel" was terrible. We hired transport which was a blessing.I really sympathised with the people having to walk to/from the shops..it was too far.
The hotel photos advertising these apartments which you can see on the internet are out of date. The tiles around the pool are painted green. The childrens play area looks like it hasn`t been used for a couple of years.
The resort is very dissapointing also. We travelled all over in search of finding the wow factor. We never found it. Beaches are awful..not sure if rock or hardcore and very small.Certainly not sandy. Alot of beaches around the island were either fenced off or you could not get access to them because of the cliffs. So snorkelling was a no no.
Petra, which is about 5km away,is about the best place to head for a half decent beach.
We would never go there again.Rhodes is far far better for everything. Better food, places to see, beaches, better cultural experience, better everything.
If you really want a relaxing holiday, with nothing to inspire you,and like walking and paying top prices for adequate food, this is the place for you.We were bored with the island after 2 days. Sorry, but really there are better places to stay and visit.
