This is the best experience we have had on Crete. Clean, calm and silent. Beautiful view and nice garden. The family who runs/owns this hotel have "Service" as their middelname.
The rooms are basic but very clean. We find the beds a bit hard, - a bed with softer mattresses makes the day i bit easyer for some of us. But all over an exellent experience.
The breakfast is plentyful and fresh. Here is something for everybody, - also for the kids. And the yoghurt is the best ever.
We hired a car (from Autohire Chania-Anna Sinanefi)and it was easy to find the hotel.
We can also recommand the stairway ( 97 steps) as a short way to the beach. Makes your thighs and hips fit and fine.

Just back from a week's family holiday spent based at this fabulous hotel.
Much has been written about it already......and all the good things are true.
The hotel is as good as you can hope for (certainly for the price!) but the incredible hard work of Georgios brings it to life, From welcoming you at breakfast, to discussing your day with genuine interest, making suggestions of places to visit, organising taxis, recommending restaurants, we felt like really special personal guests.
One of the comments in the visitors book summed it up beautifully," this is a hotel with a heart and soul" . You can pay extra money for marble tiles and gold taps, but you cannot buy attention and service like this.

This was our first visit to Crete and it's a wonderful island with loads to do, even in April. The hotel was a great base to visit the Western part of the island. We would recommend visits to the ruins at Aptera, (as an alternative to travelling all the way to Knossos), the Botanical Gardens in the White Mountains, walking the Imbros Gorge, the Archeological Museum in Hania, strolling the Venetian old towns of Rethmynon and Hania and the beautifully situated war cemetery at Suda Bay. Lots of Great restaurants, the best value local restaurant being Amethystos. Our son most enjoyed the karting and crazy golf within easy walking distance of the hotel.
Things to watch out for include parking in Hania centre. You can think you're parking legally in the centre but be careful to look for no parking signs at the beginning/end of each street. Most streets near the old town are no parking - even though many Cretans tend to ignore this. You could unwittingly pick up a ticket.

This hotel is situated on the top of a small hill, with views over the bay to one side and the snow-topped mountains on the other. We were lucky to get a corner room with balcony,(most have balconies) so got both views!
The rooms are basic, ( furniture - beds, table, wardrobe, TV) but clean and functional. The beds are a little hard; good for some I suppose. The bathroom had a shower, toiletries, and plentiful towels, changed every day.
Breakfast was also plentiful; Greek yoghurt and fruit, cheeses and meats, olives, bread and spreads, cereals. Coffee and tea available 24 hours - as was crockery and cutlery if you needed any. I think more hotels could do this.
The outstanding thing about this hotel is the staff - we arrived late (11pm) and rang for the receptionist. She arrived and was very helpful about getting a late dinner at a local restaurant. At 2;30 am we locked ourselves out of the bathroom (dunno how!) and she came up to sort it out without a murmur. The other receptionist (or possibly owner/manager) Georgios, was equally helpful and friendly, asking about our day, printing off maps of tourist destinations, phoning the bus company to check timetables, and even having a word with some VERY noisy guests who disturbed the entire hotel at 2am one morning.
Oh and the hotell doesn't do transfers from the airport:- i mentioned to Georgios in my confirmation emails that i would be having to get a taxi - we arrived at the airport to find he had organised a 'smart-car' private taxi who had turned up with our names on a card, and who charged 25euros instead of the usual 40 for a taxi.
Outstanding service.

Room Tip: Corner room no32 has fantastic views, and a large balcony. Also has double doors and a window so th...

This was our first visit to Crete, at the very start of the season, so tourists were few but also some facilities were not fully geared up for the summer trade. This was rarely a significant disadvantage and the 20 plus degrees of warmth every day more than made up for shovelling snow from the driveway to get to the airport.
The Hotel was everything we expected and more. My partner and I had travelled with her widowed mother who is a sparky soul but had little experience of foreign climes. Even Brenda felt immediately at home and was treated as part of Giorgos' extended family, which is part of the hotel's charm. Breakfasts were generous and constantly replenished. Service was impeccable and unfailingly warm and friendly. Rooms were comfortable, well equiped, spotless and regularly serviced with a degree of artistic flair we had not anticipated. Flannels or night attire left out would be arranged into animal shapes!
Others have commented on the wonderful location and the views over the bay, and the steps down to it. All true, and not in the least off-putting, even to Brenda well down her sprightly 70's.
We would happily go back for more.

Room Tip: Rooms with sea views have a stunning panorama from the fairly private balcony but the road below the...

Visited march 2013. Snow in UK - sun in Crete. A lovely hotel with an owner who will go the extra mile for you! Nothing was too much trouble - from a corkscrew to Sellotape. Bright, clean , reasonable cost and great situation. Holiday tip hire a car ! Cost from airport by taxi is 40 euro - car hire 60 for the week! Views from the room were stunning! Breakfast reasonable considering the cost - however we mainly paid on average £15 each for meals with wine in Crete so good value and fabulous food! Must visit Botanical gardens about 30 mins drive inland -amazing!

Room Tip: Top floor end room with panoramic views.

We (2 adults, 3 children) stayed here in October half term last year. We booked very late based on reviews on Travel Republic.
The hotel is full of light, airy, lovely and clean and our rooms contained everything we needed. The breakfasts were delicious and constantly replenished, even when our 17 year old son nipped in just before the end of serving time! The atmosphere was very relaxed and easy going, which is what we wanted after a busy year. The pool and garden areas were spotless.
Giorgos and Stella were always friendly and helpful; they worked really hard all of the time, and the food available was delicious and excellent value. You could eat it at the Pool bar, in the Dining Room or your Bedroom.
The availability of the Wifi and the computer were really useful, particularly to contact our other son at university. It was very easy to catch a bus into Chania and we were given plenty of advice on places to visit and restaurants etc; however, we all enjoyed eating at the hotel.
The gratis dish or drink was always greatly anticipated in restaurants; Giorgos was very thoughtful in what he offered each group of guests at the hotel.
The weather was always warm and although cloudy on some days, we still used the pool and beach. We only wore a cardigan a few times in the evening.
We are just about to book again.

Room Tip: All rooms have lovely views with room balconies.

Amazing sea view, clean comfortable room, friendly staff! The hotel is right above the beach of Kato Stalos, walking distance from Platanias and Agia Marina and also 5 ride from the city of Chania. I would definately recommend it.
