For cuisine, this restaurant compares favorably with any other on Sao Miguel -- even the ones we visited in Ponta Delgada. We started with the traditional white cheese and salad appetizers, which are served gratis; then came my swordfish steak, grilled to perfection, and accompanied by fresh shredded carrots, and assorted vegetables. My companion explored the baccalau, and found it tasty & tender! The recommended bottle of white wine from Pico was well-chilled and a great accompaniment to the meal. This seems to be a family-run restaurant, and the staff here speaks English well. Service is prompt, friendly & helpful -- they were more than happy to help us with directions and tips for a trip to Furnas. All-in-all, a very pleasant change from our experience at Borda d'Agua Restaurant in Rosario, Lagoa.
