We used the beach when staying at the nearby Riu Guarana. The beach is nice and clean and the cost of sunbeds is reasonable at 15 euros for two for the day. Although the waves can be rough, there are lifeguards on watch and they will intervene if anyone strays in to an area they consider dangerous. If you are spending a day at the beach I would recommend the 'O Golfinho' bar/restaurant, the food is excellent and the house wines, both red and white, are very good. It's a great place to have lunch with friendly staff and a superb view of the sea!
