“Lovely holiday - would recommend”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

Came back on Thursday from a weeks stay at this resort with my boyfriend. Overall we were extramely happy. Staff were very friendly and all spoke very good english. There are quite a lot of steps down to the beach but it is well worth it and id say most people will be able to manage the steps with little bother. The entertainment staff work hard and throughout the week there was a quiz, bingo, a show, some dancers etc on an evening. We went all inclusive and were very happy we done this, we feel like we got good value for money. Couldnt fault the food, there may not be the biggest selection but id say most people will be able to eat more than enough. Plenty of drink available throughout the day and on a night including a cocktail of the day.

As for the bugs mentioned in previous reviews neither of us got one bite and never heard anyone mention bites the whole time we were there.

There was a problem with some exchange students for a few days of our stay but the hotel offered us some compensation which we were happy to accept.

Overall a positive experience and we would return in the future.

This was the first time we had done all inclusive as a group of 3 so didn't have any preconceptions. We arrived late so no food available but we expected that. I felt the food was very good with options for all tastes. The pool was great and the beach amazing. The staff without exception were marvellous and nothing too much trouble. Another time had we realised how reasonable car hire was, I think we may have travelled further afield to see more of area.

Room Tip: Think if had room with sea view it may be noisier with users of bar and pool

I got back from staying here on Tuesday, there was a group of 11 girls on a hen do and i just wanted to say how lovely the hotel is. I was a bit worried after reading some of the reviews but when we arrived we were pleasantly surprised.
We arrived about 10.30 am we were told we couldnt check in until 4pm which wasnt a problem as they do state this on their website. We were asked if we wanted the all inclusive lunch on the 1st day or our last day. as we were leaving at 8am on the last day we obviously opted for the first day so we were allowed our all inclusive bands from 12.30. Which was perfect! we got changed in the toilets by reception and were able to enjoy lunch and then sit by the beautiful pool all afternoon until we could check in.
The room was very large and very clean. i was sharing with 2 of my friends and we had a single bed each and one in the living room on the sofa bed. Plenty of space for us, kitchen was ok, didnt have a kettle but this didnt bother us really.

The beach is down quite alot of stairs but worth it once we got there, beach is beautiful!!! the walking back up is fine and there is a bench halfway up so if your older and less fit you will still be fine!

The food is fairly basic but had a large salad selection for lunch and dinner and 2 choices and a pasta choice so even the fussiest person should be ok! The drinks included in the all inclusive are just what we wanted a choice of spirits, beer, wine and a cocktail of the day.

The pool was big and sunbeds all around it, we didnt have a sunbed on the 1st day so we asked and they showed us the shed they store them in so we were able to go and take some out and put them by the pool which we did each day so we always got a sunbed.

The hotel is fairly noisy at night with people coming home from the night out but i kind of expected this so it didnt bother me too much but people with young children may have issues with the noise.

This hotel is on trip advisor twice (Luna Falesia Mar) so wanted to post on both! The hotel is family friendly and lots of kids were there along side all sorts of other groups of people including hen do's, friends on holiday and couples and it was a nice atmosphere.

We went into Alburfeira every night we were there and it is very good for hen do's, stag do's and young people, we had such a laugh and the old town is really nice we ate in a lovely pizza place and then did some shopping and the beach there is stunning. I would definitely go back.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends. We had a really lovely 3 night stay.

Just returned, arrived at 1pm didnt get in to room until 4pm, not much of a problem as was given all inclusive wristband , so able to go for lunch whilst waiting and try the local beer, transfer to hotel only took half an hour , pleasent surprise as was expecting anything from 55mins to 2and a half hours going with some of the other reviews, anyway back to hotel and i must admit I
was a bit surprised that we didnt get our room keys until 4pm as the hotel was probably only half full , why make people wait .rooms are pretty large and in good decorative state , not bitten by any bugs inside or outside.breakfast good choice lunch and dinner pretty repetative but always found something to eat , beer and wine on offer to all .sea view and beach are stunning , steps not to steep and young and old all seemed to manage easily.a few bars and resteraunts at bottom of hill and if you keep walking down the hill on the left this takes you to a small beach and more pubs and resteraunts (worth a look).if you fancy a trip to albufiera you can either arrange with reception in advance for the free bus , runs twice a day 9am and 2pm or get a taxi which will cost around 10 euros.hotel staff were very friendly as were the portugeese people in general, hope this helps.

Room Tip: Get the sea view if you can

I travelled with my girlfriend (young couple) start of Sept 12, so apologies for the delay!
I felt i had the need to write a review after scanning quite a few bad ones!

POSITIVES - First of all, im shocked people thought the food was 'okay'. Im not the fussiest of eaters, but we were both thrilled we went all inclusive as the food was 10/10. Always 3-4 different choices of meat etc. Eat there 6 nights out of 7 (and the 1 time we eat out we wished we eat at the hotel, thats how nice i thought it was).
Tonnes of sunbeds around the pool, lying on the big grass bank was nice.
Location was amazing. Walking around the beach/ontop of the clifftops was stunning. 100+ steps down to the beach, but unless you have mobility problems, big deal .. i find it nice walking on holiday personally so yeah.
Rooms basic but cleaned daily, nice balcony
Staff all friendly
Plenty of nearby shops, supermarkets.
Easy to book attractions (went water park one day which was nice)

NEGATIVES - Yes, alot of German and Dutch etc. Not really a problem, but is abit annoying when you realise there arent many english people around. Met a few nice english couples though, so no biggy really!
I must admit the entertainment is cheap and cheesy, but all inclusive free bar, we just found ourselves getting hammered every night finding the cheesiness funny if anything!
Arrived 11am, told our room wasnt ready till 2pm (annoyed me, but left our suitcases with reception and scanned around the town for a few hours).
Only 1 or 2 bars down the road, thought there would be more places to drink on the night but it wasnt a problem as once the bar shut around 11.30ish, we we're too tired to go out anyway!
Aircon wasnt in the bedroom, was in the living area (bit annoying, but the sofa beds were comfy so we slept on those a few nights!)

Really they are the only down points as said above. People must be used to 5* hotels or something, because for a 3* i thought it was beautiful. Best all inclusive holiday iv been on personally (mainly due to the food being so nice!).
All in all, dont let peoples reviews put you off. We were a bit skeptical, but it was absolutely lovely. If your reasonably active, like having a stroll around the lovely Portugal Beaches etc, then for the price you cant go wrong !!!

LOVELY

Room Tip: I think you have to pay extra for pool view, but if that isnt a problem id go for that!

I stayed there for one week, and got biten every night by bugs.I have never experienced this before , I was badly surprised.Inside the bedroom there was something that bit me every night.
I moved to a couch in the sitting room for the rest of my stay.
Any good food or beautiful views can not compensate the nightmare.
