We stayed in one of la Quinta's two self-catering apartments for 7 nights and had a delightful stay. This was our first holiday abroad with our 7 month old daughter and the set up at la Quinta suited us down to the ground. Jill is such a hospitable hostess and made us feel instantly at home. They supplied the cot, baby bath and high chair and our daughter really enjoyed sitting out on the veranda in her high chair watching the friendly dogs and guests passing by and munching on the figs Jill let us pick from her garden! The pool and jacquzi are both fantastic, and we spent a good amount of each day in one or the other, and more time reading and relaxing on the veranda. Having self-catering meant we could prepare our daughter's food during the day but it was a treat not to have to prepare breakfast, and Jill's bacon and eggs are delicious! We were too lazy to cook for ourselves in the evening and as we didn't want to leave our daughter or bring her with us, my husband went out each night in search of take-aways and found some good places nearby. However, from other guests' reports of the restaurants around, I think we missed out on some great places only 10 mins or so away by car. We were surprised to read the one bad review the Quinta received recently, as I am sure anyone who has met Julio will agree he is a great guy and good company. Perhaps these guests just didn't like the laid-back attitude that Jill and Julio exude, which is in my opinion what made the place truly feel like home from home. All the family made us feel extremely welcome and we will definitely be going back.
