“Autumn Delight”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2012

If you want to get away to offset the autumn/winter blues this might be just what you are looking for. My short stay at this resort was not blessed with the best weather, however, the accommodation, spar and indoor pool facilities proved to be the saving grace. This is a beautiful modern building with excellent apartments. My apartment was very spacious and spotless. It had and en-suite bathroom and a second shower room. However the bed had the worst mattress I've slept on since the 'contraception device' they called a mattress my wife and I experienced an Irish hotel! Breakfast was included on my visit. There was a good range of food on display but in comparison to the service I have received in other hotels, in other parts of the world, it was good but not exceptional. The hotel is very near two good golf courses and a driving range. It is also close to the sea and beautiful walks. If you want to travel a little further there are many more golf clubs available. If it has been raining check how soggy they are before you play!

We visited Monte da Qunita Apartments as two couples and occupied a two bedroom unit on the first floor. It is only two storey and the corriodrs are as wide as a street. Apartment was well proportioned and the bedrooms were well match both with good quality ensuite bathrooms-a third shower room is also available if the fold down in the lounge is used. Small kitchen does everything you are likely to want it. Wi fi in the room was fine if a bit slow. Facilites are great although we did not use the spa - too busy visiting the wonderful sights on offer in the Algarve. Perfect venu for golf in fact one of the party stayed on and met up with three colleagues for four days of golf after we left. Ask aroun as they paid an average of 40euros per round. Best stocked bathrooms i have come across. Staff were great and very helpful. Part buffet style breakfast was ok - order poached eggs otherwise everything else is left out. Not much y way of fruit, cheese or cold meat if that is what you are after but really not a problem as there is plenty choice.

Room Tip: East rooms face over the gardens rather than the pool so are a bit quieter - open to the garden on g...

This was the second time at this hotel, and yet I was again amazed at the value and the quality of the place. We were travelling with parents-in-law and our small child, and the suite - composed of two large double bedrooms, each with a bathroom, and a livin/dining room with kitchen and an additional shower room/toilet - allowed us to stay together while keeping some privacy. All is there to make youfeel comfortable - elegant furniture and decoration, with paintings and modern ceramics, luxury bathrooms, quality linen, all imaginable amenities, and of course perfect cleanliness. At the same time, this is not a snobbish place- it is relaxed and perfectly OK for children but I believe also very enjoyable for couples or groups of friends. We had dinner at the restaurant and we found it of good quality. Also the spa should be mentioned - very good treatments. Should also add that Quinta do Lago is an impressive resort - I had some reservations on golf fields at the sun, but I have to admit that the place is just beautiful, with gardens and lawns blending into wild nature.

Booked this as a very last minute break and was pleasantly surprised. We had a 2 bedroom suite over looking the pool area. Beds were very comfortable and the suite was well equipped with kitchen area 2 good size bedrooms 3 bath/shower rooms (lovely powerful shower) and access to balcony from both bedrooms. Only downside was as it was end of season the shop and beach bar not very well stocked (no ice creams available poolside) shop would only sell them in boxes of 6 not individually which seemed odd. Also wi-fi kept dropping out so was frustrating for husband trying to work (he shouldn't be while on holiday !). Spa area was lovely and staff very helpful. Would definitely go again but not this late in the season.

Room Tip: Pool view rooms have sun in the morning road side view has sun in the evening.

This suites hotel ticks all the boxes for us. Fully equipped kitchen, luxury bathroom and shower room, one or two bedrooms with some larger suites too! Good on site facilities in a lovely area less than a mile from the sea with National Park stretching along this coast.

Room Tip: Opt for first floor garden facing, but all are good. Ground floor rooms open directly onto the garde...

Just spent a week in a one bedroom apartment here. The rooms were very comfortable and beautifully furnished with all the modern appliances that you would need. Nice outdoor pool area. The suites are ideally situated for several gof courses. There is a water sports centre on a lake within walking distance, and some lovely walks on nature trails and on the beach nearby. Although these are self catering apartments, a buffet breakfast was included in the price which was excellent with a great choice of hot and cold dishes.

Room Tip: If booking in the summer when the air conditioning is on, the building that houses the large air con...

We went in September and stopped in the Suites for 12 nights - and unknown to us was the fact they were shutting the "Club" pool bar a couple of days after our arrival, so not only were the Hotel guests using the pool but all the villa/club people invaded the pool area, which meant a scramble for sunbeds (and being lucky to secure one) and loads of screaming kids even though it was school term time. For an expensive 'exclusive' hotel this was a big turn-off. Not only that but even when sitting in the 'quiet' area by the bar parents insisted on allowing their brats to sling the cushions around the flower beds and create havoc. Crying babies at night disturbed the peace. The suites themselves are superb, if expensive and cleaned daily. As an older couple who travel in term time to avoid children this is not the place for a 'couples' holiday. The fact the hotel did not inform us of the impending invasion from the Club or give discount for the inconvenience, in what is a very expensive 4 star hotel is disgraceful. Then to add to our grievance along comes a 'jolly' works outing (2 nights/3 days) - they took over the bar swamping the poor bar-man - an hour's wait for a drink is too long. Due to the influx of people the 'a la carte' menu was suspended and it became a luke-warm help yourself buffet for the remainder of our stay, which ended up in expensive taxi fares to restaurants due to the quality of the buffet. The accommodation may be 4 star but they rest of the hotel is not.

Room Tip: Sunrise side has the quiet garden if you are lucky enough to have considerate parents or there are n...
