We played San Lorenzo four times on our recent visit to the Algarve and enjoyed it immensely. It is a very interesting layout with a number of challenging holes that offer options for both the higher and lower handicapper. The views of the Ocean and the Ria Formosa estuary open up after the fifth hole when you play alongside water until the ninth. The 8th, 17th and 18th holes border a nature reserve and bird sanctuary and offer wonderful wildlife plus some scary carries!
The greens were in superb, slick condition and the bunkers had consistent quality sand. The fairways were rather patchy though with varying depths of grass and many small tufts.
The staff in the pro shop and clubhouse were friendly and helpful.
Overall we had an excellent and enjoyable time playing here.
