My partner and I stayed here on Saturday 13th Oct with our dog Dexter and we were delighted with the friendly reception we received. We were made to feel very welcome, our room was quirky, clean and had a great sea view and breakfast was fab! Only a few minutes walk from the local pub (which is also dog friendly) and reasonably priced. We will be coming back in the future.

We managed to grab a weekend away having managed to get a cancellation at Western House. Our friends recommended the house to us having stayed there for a wedding in the Summer. They just told us 'go and see for yourself', well we were not to be disappointed. We had the room at the back of the house over looking the garden, although it may have been nicer to have had a seaview the room had its advantages. The ensuite has a massive old fashioned bath, having tried surfing for the first time it saved me and a long soak got rid of my aches and pains!
The house is full of character and although the farm buildings that I presume once belonged to Western House are no longer part of the 'estate' the house just exudes authority and charm.
The owners are really nice and appear to genuinly want you to have a good time, breakfast was very nice. My wife is a veggie and opted for the freshly laid eggs from the chickens we could watch feeding in the garden. I had a large cooked breafast that was full of all the usuals.
The pricing is very fair, we paid £60 a room which we felt was very good value.

My wife and I have just enjoyed a two night stay here last weekend and really enjoyed it.Friendly hosts and family and even the dogs didn't bother me despite being no dog lover and allergic to them.Great breakfast and good local advice from Steve and Pippa on all sorts of subjects.Decor is very different from the usual B&B which adds to the overall ambience of the accommodation

Room Tip: Our room was small and cosy on first floor but only three rooms in total in what is a small house -b...

Managed to grab a long weekend in the school holidays, so glad we visited. We found Western House on the internet and selected it based on its price and location. We were not to be let down. The house in an old Farm House tastefully and boldly decorated. The owners friend is a famous ceramicist, Mary Rose Young and a lot of the design in the house is based on her pottery. We had a 1st floor room with sea views. The room was fine, clean and tidy, the bed was an old brass bed which was quite grand.
Breakfasts are hearty and being veggies we had scrambled eggs and we were delighted that the eggs were laid that morning by the owners chickens!
All in all we had a fabulous trip, we were given good advice about where to walk and when to go and despite the weather we had a good few days out. We will be back and would recommend Western House based on the homely welcome and the good value.

Recently stayed at Western House b&b for a weekend with my boyfriend and had such a lovely time. According to the price of only £60 per night for bed and breakfast, we weren't expecting anything amazing, but were amazed with what we got.

Our room was on the third floor of the house with amazing views of the whole village and Rhosilli beach which were lovely to wake up to every morning. Nice big atic room with a huge bed, which was possibly one of the best night's sleep I've had in a while in due to it being so comfy, and also a single bed which would be good for families. Tea and coffee facilities in the room with nice biscuits too. Bathroom was fantastic! So colourful from the floor to the toilet! Lovely bath also, which was just what we needed after a freezing surfing lesson. There was no shower in our bathroom, but we were offered the use of the wetroom downstairs.

Breakfast was delicious. We didn't need to eat all day after it. Plenty of cereal, toast, coffee and a full Welsh breakfast with everything, and best of all we were asked how we'd like our eggs some each morning by Rhian (the owners daughter/chef!). Delicious!

Overall, a brilliant stay at the family home owned by the Poultons. Chilled, lovely, not overpriced and yummy stay! Would definatley return again and we will be telling our friends and family to stay at this b&b.

This I had seen sometime back when looking for somewhere to stay in the Gower, it looked different and having to try different things booked the bb. It's in a good location near to the kings head pub and near walks that take you out to the beach. The bb was homely and friendly and the breakfast was very good. If you are looking for luxury, this is not, my partner cleaned the fan in the bathroom and more attention to cleaning would be good but the bed was comfortable, the location good and the kids of the owners very helpful. It's like being at home without the cooking. Would recommend to anyone with dogs or enjoy walks. However ask for the larger rooms as our room had no hanging space and we lived out of suitcase.

Room Tip: Try asking for room at rear of house, bedrooms are larger

We're staying as guests at Western House right now. Pippa & Steve are lovely people, and will go out of their way to help you. They have all the local knowledge you could wish for, covering the whole of Gower, not just Llangennith. Steve always has the latest surf reports, wind and weather info, and will happily help you plan your day's surfing or walking around the area.

The house is a wonderful, warm, homely place, colourful and funky. No surprise that they've been featured on TV and in the Lonely Planet Guide.

You'll get a choice of meat or veggie breakfast (we're veggie - love the veggie sausages we get with ours), complete with fresh free range eggs from Pippa and Steve's own chickens, who have a wonderful free range life! There's also plenty of cereal, milk, juice, toast, tea and coffee to get you started.

We're staying in room 1, the attic family room, with ensuite bathroom, all with funky decor. We have views across to the back of Rhossili Down, and way across Burry Holmes, and to West Wales.

The beach is walking distance, or a drive if you're that way inclined. The walks around here are wonderful, you could walk all day without setting foot on so much as a country lane. Great running too. There's plenty of outdoor activity available, and at night, if you're looking for a place to eat, you're only walking distance from the village pub, with it's wide menu.

Come once, and love it, then come back time and time again for the love of it. We have, and we will.

Room Tip: Room 1 (where we're staying right now) has sea views, with a wonderful view ranging from the bac...
