“Between good and very good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2013

Stayed one night early June 2013, after late evening flight to Papeete and before flying to Bora Bora next morning, it was pretty convenient. To me it seemed like a nice, clean, fairly modern (about 3.5* I would give it) hotel, cool air-conditioned room (how pleasant in the heat of Tahiti) - you can set it to your liking. I suddenly woke up in the middle of the night shivering, as it was only 18C as we set it upon entering from outside heat. Yes, there is steep hill, but it's only few min walk up, total walk from airport I'd say is about 7 mins, steep hill maybe 2 mins (but unfit or elderly might have to take a rest before getting all the way up). Breakfast surprisingly ok, filling - fresh croissants, pastries, some jam, tea/coffee, fresh cut pineapple. Tahitian staff a bit friendlier than French (I'd assume from France) staff, they're all helpful, only difference maybe Tahitians add a warm smile, lol. I even left some of my luggage in the hotel storage for a fee of about $15-20, it's maybe $100 cheaper per person if you fly with luggage under 10 kg pp to Bora Bora - couldn't find this lower rate on internet, but bought Bora Bora air tickets the next morning on the spot as soon as Air Tahiti office opened, I think at 6 or 7am, went back to hotel, had nice breakfast, more sleep, then to B.B. around lunch time. Would recommend this hotel.

Arrived on late night flight and had read reviews on the steep driveway and number of stairs to get there so were prepped. Was def not an exageration would not reccomend to the elderly.

Room was spacious but basic and clean. Staff helpful the front desk man even offered to take us to our next hotel in the morning as was going past but was a bit early for us so just taxied.

Would stay again for stop over but no more than a night at a time not really close to anything but the airport.

We chose the Tahiti Airport Motel because we could walk across the street from the airport without paying a huge taxi fare. There is a very steep hill you have to walk up with your luggage but if you are somewhat fit and you don't have too many bags this won't be a problem. Don't forget to wear shorts, the humidity is 100% when you step off the plane. There is a little trail to the right walking up to the hotel. Just keep walking to the top and you will see the little gate once you've reached the hotel. If you try to enter any other gates before reaching the top you will be entering someone's property.
Our plane arrived at midnight and this place was fine for the night. The next day we were boarding a ferry to paradise so this place saved us some money. They gave you a tray in the morning so you could eat your complementary breakfast which included a chocolate croissant and cereal. If you don't speak or read french, the milk is in the blue box!

Unless you are looking for Hostel,I dont recommend this motel. People smoking joints on the landing...a long uphill walk to your room. lights that dont go on in the hallway unless you turn a switch..then they go off themselves. A dark windy down hill walk to the street...no restaurants nearby that are good...hot...postage stamp tv. room very basic. Hard bed...airconditioning that was difficult to control. Even our tour drivers were surprised that this motel had been chosen(I have also notified my tour company) Only thing good is that it is across from airport...

Bottom line...no way to stay in Tahiti...worth driving a little further for a better hotel...seedy

Room Tip: Choose a room somewhere else.

The hotel is very close to the Airport but the walk to and from is very steep! The rooms are basic but clean. There is no restaurant and the options at night at the airport are very limited so if you want a meal a taxi into town is the best option. Breakfast is included in the tariff but we left too early in the morning to try it.

There is nothing to complain about the hotel. It is across the road from Tahiti airport (1-2mins walk up hill). The room is clean and functional with safe box, TV, free wifi (weak signal on upper floor), and free breakfast. The staff is helping and friendly.

It is very convenient for short stay or flight connection. But there is nothing around the motel. No shops or attractions.

You can take 7km. ride by taxi (2,000xpf flat rate) or bus (200xpf) to city center for dinner on La Roulette.

PS.
- The motel is very strict about check in time at 2pm. So, if you arrive before, you have to wait until 2pm to get key card.
- the motel is located on high hill, i would recommend to deposit your large lugguage at the airport (price from 350-900xpf).

We stayed here three times and it's absolutely functional. Perfectly clean rooms, furnishing is modern and in good condition. Quiet. Cheapest choice we found and shortest possible way to the airport. Free WLAN. Reception open around the clock.
Still we never became friends. You arrive with your 23 kg bag and need to drag and carry it up the steep hill with worst thinkable conditions and several sections with long stairs. No shuttle available, no elevator in the building itself. Concerning the obvious target group it feels like they are kidding but they don't. Staying only one night at a time the irritation created overshadowed the whole experience for us. Less luggage would probably have left us with a better feeling but that is just the point.
