“Wonderful meal with gorgeous views!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2012

My friend and I stayed at the Intercontinental for two days. We read about their 5 star restaurant and could not resist. The building is out over the water and we were seated at the edge on the side facing Moorea. We could look down in the water and see the fish swimming by. We arrive at dusk and watched the last of a beautiful sunset.

Our food was absolutely scrumptious! Service was impeccable. All of this was at some cost!!! But it was worth it. If you have taken the trouble to travel all the way to Tahiti, you must experience this restaurant. It was marvelous!

“Best Dinner in French Polynesia”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2012

We spent 3 nights on Moorea and 4 nights in Bora Bora. We took an early afternoon flight out of Bora Bora for the sole purpose of eating at this restaurant prior to our flight back to LAX, and let me say it did not disappoint. I would highly recommend that those visiting any of the French Polynesian Islands to take an early flight back to Tahiti and eat at this restaurant prior to their flight out of French Polynesia.

The restaurant is located on overwater platforms that resemble lily pads hence the name "le Lotus" and is one of the most romantic places my wife and I have ever eaten (and believe me, there are many). The service, the food, and the wine were the best of any place we visited on our trip, and for those of you visiting Bora Bora, the price will also surprise you (expensive yes, but probably 2/3 the price of any reputable dinner in Bora Bora). Words can not do this place justice, as it is an experience in and of itself.

“Excellent gourmet restaurant with a lot of atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2011

We ate here the last of our four nights at the Intercontinental, and wish we had tried it earlier. The prices are higher than the hotel's main restaurant, Le Tiare (see separate review), but it is well worth it. Both my mahi mahi and my wife's guineafowl could not be faulted and the service was superb and very attentive. But perhaps the best features are the ambience and the views over the lagoon. Highly recommended.

“A wonderful gastronomic experience in a romantic setting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2010

Le Lotus is the fine dining restaurant at the InterContinental. I find it hard to believe that no-one has reviewed this restaurant yet - it is definitely a hidden gem.

It is located in two bungalows (fares) over the lagoon, looking straight at Moorea island - the atmosphere is very romantic. The food is pricey ( we paid around AUD200 for two, including mains, dessert and sparkling water) but, it is definitely worth it - I had a beautiful meal, including complimentary canapes and an appetizer as well. I would describe the food as being modern French - both our meals were absolutely delicious.

The service was attentive and very professional, one can tell that the staff working there is trained, which is a nice change with some restaurants in Australia where the wait staff is made up of students with no real care for their job.

Overall one of the best meals I have had in a long time - highly recommended,
