Booked through Alpharooms for our stay in Feb 2008 so a bit late posting this review -sorry. We thought we had booked a sea view room, but on arrival found this was not the case. We were told any rooms booked through an agency were standard roomson the street side. We paid the extra to move to a sea view room on the top floor on the second day when one became available - definitely worth it. View from window overlooked the plunge pool rather than the beach but outside the door was a huge roof terrace - as the hotel wasn't full we had this pretty much to ourselves. Rooms overlooking the street have very little view and the road is busy, although pedestrianised.
The room was quite basic, but clean and very adequate, although we had to get someone to fix the toilet which wouldn't flush and the door which would only lock if it felt like it!
We were on half board, the food wasn't anything special but was quite edible, reasonable choice of self service hot food and salads. We thought the drinks were quite pricey though. There are numerous other places to eat within easy reach and we ate out a couple of times. Reception and restaurant staff okay.
The hotel has sun decks on various levels looking out to sea and over to Montana Roja. It's worth walking along the beach and climbing up the Mont for the great views. No facilities up there though and it is a bit steep and rough.
Resort was quite windy, more so than around the corner of the island, but the town is much less touristy than the concrete jungles, which we preferred. Parking can be difficult but we managed, would be worse in high season.
