“Poor rooms”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2011 via mobile

Awful mattress, no dresser. Hit and miss hot water. No window screens. Poorly working air conditioning. Rooms need total upgrade. Average dining room and food. Meeting facility below average. Horseback riding was fun only if guide was a friendly and informative person. Very poor accommodations. Not much English spoken. Beautiful countryside. Staff treat stray animals cruelly. front desk staff hide behind native language to talk about you; this happened to me, they did not realize I spoke spanish.

Overall poor experience.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2011

The rooms are nice, only the place is a few km from town. But the best thing is the natural spa some 100 m away. Warm water is channeld in to small pools and it is an unforgetable soaking undar the big trees - especialy during the night!

4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2010

This is a very clean, modern, cheery, comfortable place to stay. The rooms aren't luxurious (by North American Standards), but they're more than adequate. With everything that was included - breakfast, dinner, entrance to thermal pools - it was also a great value. Next time, we're going to stay longer.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2010

This beautiful hot springs resort is easily reached from San Jose and is well worth the drive to the out of the way location. The rooms are simple, clean and quiet and the food was delicious. The real treat though is the hot springs which are located down a jungle path and surrounded by huge palms. There is a bar, changing rooms and several different rock lined pools which vary in temperature. This is not a big, glitzy tourist spot but rather a relaxing, quiet oasis which seems to attract locals who know what a treat this is.
