Description: Our restaurant is open to non-residents and boasts stunning views across Swaledale. We have gained an excellent reputation for high quality, reasonably priced dishes using the best seasonal and local produce. We prepare all our dishes using the freshest of ingredients and can therefore cater for any special dietary requirements. During the day, in our lounge, we can serve you a range of tasty hot or cold sandwiches, a warming bowl of homemade soup or one of our hot dishes of the day. As well as our fully stocked bar we also provide morning coffee or afternoon tea. In the evening we offer an excellent selection of starters, main courses and desserts and also offer a number of seasonal specials that take advantage of the best of the Dales’ local produce.

“Friendly haven in an idyllic rural location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2013

We were staying nearby and our hosts booked us a table at the Lodge for dinner one cold night this April. We arrived dripping wet and were immediately greeted by incredibly friendly manager who showed us where to hang coats to dry and proceeded to look after us personally the whole night. Very relaxed and warm atmosphere. Food just a nice cut above your average gastro pub fare, yet not so fancy that it was over the top for dinner as part of a holiday. Wine lovely - manager gave us a good recommendation. Good fresh veg, quality meat and thoughtfully presented. Just wish they'd caramelised the sugar on my creme brûlée properly.
