I'm not sure where all these other reviewers are staying but we spent three nights in the Ios Palace at the beginning of July and can only describe the place as an absolute palace. We had an extremely large room with marble floor. The inside of the room was completely white. The bathroom was nice and clean and the tile was lovely. There was a tub and a hand held shower. The view from our room was spectacular. We overlooked the sea and the pool(s). Yes the pools are saltwater but that is the fad these days - live with it. The breakfast was fine. The usual breads, jams, cereal, cake and the scrambled eggs were to die for. Maybe after 5 mornings i'd be sick of it but it was more than adequate. The beach below is beautiful. Yes be aware that at the end of the beach is a place called Far out camping that is for all the young travellers. But we had a very restful sleep. We had a small balcony with two chairs and a table. It was very comfortable. We had twin beds that had been pushed together to create a king size. The beds are hard but so are all the beds all over europe. Get used to it. The front desk staff was extremely helpful when our ferry was delayed and we had to reorganize for the next day. We had no trouble with the air conditioning. Ask for room 116 if you want some space, a clean room and a magnificent view.
