“pretty view, not so great beach.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2013 via mobile

We drove all the way out to the southern tip of the island to see the speech. I'm not saying it was a disappointment… But if you're expecting a nice red sandy beach… look Elsewhere in the world. The beach is named more for its spectacular red Cliffs. Not a red sandy beach.

“Nothing special”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2013

Not sure why this is even an attraction. Not the easiest place to get to and just okay once you are there. Plenty of other beaches on Santorini to enjoy.

“Rock Slides”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2013

This is a stunning beach visually - but there has been a recent rock slide and it is not safe for tourists. People still flock there, but we were told by locals that is it not safe to visit. We just looked on from the sea as we kayaked by.

“Stunning disappointment”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2013

We drove all the way out to Red Beach to see what it is all about. Well the beach itself is stunning - no doubt about it. The disappointment is most definitely the lack of access to enjoy the beach. For anyone with mobility problems they wouldn't be able to enjoy this vista.

“Great colours and clear water.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2013

This is a great little beach, the contrasting bright blue of the water and red of the cliffs and pebbles make for amazing photos. Sure it can get a bit windy but Santorini is a very windy wee island. While it isn't the best beach I've been too in Greece, especially after arriving from Crete, it is just a really different type of beach and worth checking out for the dramatic cliffs and popping colours. For those of you writing a review in August and complaining about the crowds, not only are you there, contributing to the crowds yourself but it is also peak season, what did you expect?
