“Place to Chill out”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2013

My Wife and I spent 2 nights 3 days last weekend (11~13th October 13'). It was a total relax holiday. Hotel was very accomodative and obliged our early check-in request. Not only that we were upgraded to a suit as we came to celebrate our 20th Wedding Anniversary. Room was specious and the bathroom was very clean. The white sandy beach was the main attraction at this location where spent all 3 morning. the beach is very clean and can walk about 1km or so which we walked every morning and evening. The Hotel staff was very helpful. Mr. Ranjith from the restuarnt was very kind. he always came and spoke to us at meal times and offered his assistance. Only drawback we could mention is that the food choice was average. yet still it was tasety. All in all we both enjoyed our stay very much.

Room Tip: get a room overlooking the pool and sea

We stayed at Avani for 4 days in August. We were weary before going as the weather was showing up as hot (30 degrees) but thunder. Our worries were gone the first day we sunbathed as the weather was amazing! When we arrived at the hotel the process of getting our room sorted was very quick and easy, the reception explained everything we needed to know. After this we went up to the gorgeous rooms! They live up to expectations and are very modern, comfortable and sophisticated,
They cater for every palette with western foods, Sri Lankan foods and beautiful desserts! The fresh pasta and sauces were my favourite but there is so much to try! The breakfast is also so tasty with bread selections, omelettes, pancakes, waffles and eggs! If you want a less formal lunch you can order pizza, pasta, burgers and sandwiches from the bar for an easier option. We tried both and each tasted as good as the other! The pool is great and spacious and the towel man is very helpful and caters to your needs
I can safely say this is the best holiday I have been on and the best hotel I have stayed at. Thank you Palms,,,!!! ( Our Family 2nd Visit To The Palms )

We stayed here for one night and loved the hospitality of the hotel...The room overlooked the beach and pool with a small balcony...The decor of the room was amazing..The dinner and the breakfast spread was really amazing and lavish...In the evening there was a Fire & limbo show in the lobby which kept all the visitors glued and was very entertaining...

We spent 3 nights at this lovely hotel.
Our room was spotless and very spacious - we had a junior suite.
The staff were attentive but ordering lunch took about an hour to arrive.
The dinner buffet was good but it took a while to get any drinks to go with it, Okay if you are not in a hurry.
If you have a room at the back they overlook the bar and can be very noisy but mostly the music stops before midnight.
The pool was lovely and very large. Plenty of shallow areas for non swimmers.

Room Tip: Try to get a room with a ocean view.

From the moment we entered the hotel, we were greeted by a members of staff. We were also treated to a fruit juice while we were waiting to receive our room key. Upon reaching our room, we were greeted to lovely AC room, with spectacular views of the pool below and the beach beyond. Wifi is also available in your room so no need to sit in the lobby!

Activities within the hotel are not as extensive as others, the main attractions being the large swimming pool and games room. However, once you head outside, you could forgive them. The beach alone is a stone's throw away from the hotel (literally!).During the evening, the hotel puts on entertainment for guests, varying from live music bands to snake charmers.

Finally the food...where to begin. Visiting Sri Lanka on a regular basis, I've been in a range of hotels that either lack diversity or quality. This hotel satisfies on both accounts! What's more impressive is that the buffet (breakfast/lunch/dinner) has a different set of choices EVERY day. However, the highlight of the meal is the dessert option. I would pay just for the desserts alone.

Overall, our time in The Palms was nothing short of amazing. Bliss and calm is what you will receive when you stay here. We will definitely go back!
