Quiet nice local place with tasty food, which is not so far from Vlychada beach. Located in not touristic area - that`s huge plus.

“Excellent fresh seafood,simply served”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2012

We ate at Psaraki on our first night on Santorini, before we boarded our charter yacht at Vlychda Marina. It is a simple tavern, set on a little rise above the Barbour, overlooking the boats. Nicely picturesque.

The food was lovely, simple grilled or marinated fish, salads, dips. The tzatziki and the fave bean purée were possibly he best we had on the island and the taramasalata was a revelation - rich and fishy unlike the creamy pink bloop you buy in supermarkets outside Greece. The octopus was a disappointment - cooked very hard and pretty much blackened. This was a problem wherever we ate, so it may just be the Greek style.

However it didn't stop us going back there for lunch after the end of our cruising.

Service is a little laid back. Don't expect instant responses - but they were friendly enough and everything arrived eventually. This is a relaxed, simple place with good food, nice ambience and a pretty view of the working fishing port.

“Simplicity at its best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2012

The variety and freshness of the fish served is excellent. Dishes are all great: simple and quite traditional greek in concept, yet with a very personal, delightful touch. I always trusted the owners' suggestions but I suspect you cant go much wrong with anything on the menu. At any rate, never skip the sardines!
...and the sunset view is amazing!

“One of the best, if not the best in Santorini”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012

Away from the madness of the caldera tourism.....out on the edge of the sea overlooking the small port of Vlychada is this lovely fish taverna. This was one of the rare moments when a restaurant lived up to reviews in a travel magazine. The service was perfect. The food was excellent. Seafood done so exceptionally well using traditional recipes with just a hint of that extra something and small bit of effort that makes it stand out as really, really good. It was so good we ate two days in a row so we could sample as much as possible from the menu. The best fava and tomato keftedes I've ever had. The grilled mackerel on the menu on one day was done perfectly, not overcooked....still moist and served with a lemon olive oil sauce that was made with care. Garides Saganaki? Best I've had in Greece. Period. Even the ubiquitous fried potatoes were good and not the usual sodden flavorless mass of tired potatoes. The service by the host and waiters, exactly as it should be for a small fish taverna.....attentive and real. My only issue was the deserts.....they just didn't fit in with the rest of the menu and lacked the ease of everything else. Overall, this place is very, very good.

“Quality Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

It is one of my favorite restaurants in Santorini, visiting it every year.
Located above the fishing-harbor of Vlychada, has a great view for relaxing moments.
Very friendly service, with high standards of quality food. Both fish or meat available. The menu is excellent, using local ingredients that give unique flavors. The best value for money possible.
I suggest to make a reservation before attending, especially during August.
Can't wait for next summer to visit it again!
