This review relates to the new Hotel Koch which is located 5 or 10 minutes walk from the town centre. The old hotel is now closed but I suspect both were owned by the same family.
Whilst the position isn't quite so convenient as the old one the hotel is nearly new and of a much higher quality, with plenty of car parking spaces.
My room was large, well maintained and quite well equipped. There was no safe, nor air conditioning, though the room was light and airy with very large opening windows. The free Wifi was strong in the public areas but the signal sometimes dropped in my room.
Breakfast, included in my room rate, was quite good except on those days when the hot food was cold and stale, a shame.
I got some good rates of exchange from one of the Kantors in town (airport rates were very poor indeed) but take usual precautions. English isn't widely spoken in this region of Poland but this wasn't a problem.
Driving in this part of Poland is difficult because of some exceptionally poor roads. Many are being upgraded but this caused significant delays. Whilst drivers carry out manoeuvres that would be unimaginable in the UK they are actually skilled, polite and patient !
