“What a nice holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2013

When we decided that the holiday was going to Koh Samui, several pointed at Lamai Beach as the place with small kids and we fell immediately for Beach Republic, which have a unique expression. It was obvious after only a short time on the resort that nothing was oversold and everything was as it is displayed on the website. The villa was very clean, well maintained and generally just super delicious. The terressen at the beach and pool area, up to the restaurant was a perfect contrast with the worm wind, the sound of the ocean and the sound of soft funky jazzy house music from the DJ's created all a very cool and chill atmosphere.
Great cuisine, nice done, tasty wine and cold drinks, this was a holiday we will remember.
A place we want to visit again and recommend to friends and acquaintances.

We had such a great time here, and will be back for sure!

The hotel is about 5 mins from the main town in Lamai, and is located on the beach. The feature of this hotel is defiantly the 'beach club' area which is set out with beautiful cabanas and beach chairs facing the ocean. The dj mixes some great chill out tunes while you're laying in the sun sipping on a mojito :) what else could you want!

The rooms are spacious and very clean. There was a comfortable feeling about the room layout.

Scooters can be hired from reception for those who want to head out for dinner or lunch (the hotel restaurant is a little pricey compared to other places in Lamai - as usual).

I think this place is perfect for all ages, and also couples or families! It's a great place to relax and have fun at the same time!

Pros:
- big room with nice big pool and huge terrace (we had the penthouse suite for two-Room 331)
- very nice turn down service where they bring daily a little something to snack on (very yummy)
- room with big couch, fully equipped kitchen, huge minibar, two TV's
- book directly through their website, to receive complimentary pick up and drop off at the airport
- nice breakfast
- friendly staff
- four bottles of free water daily
- free wi-fi in room

Cons:
- there was a huge stain (looked like a spoiled drink) just underneath the couch but I could see it while sitting there (made me wonder if they clean the room probably)
- door for the toilet is not completely covered so you can be seen while sitting on the toilet
- cotton pads where not stocked up, so I had only two to use for our 4/5 day stay
- coffee/tea, water, juices are for free at breakfast - however they do charge for latte's etc.
- TV channels have a bad reception, however they have a selection of DVD's to rent for free
- reserve cabanas at pool early

Overall we really enjoyed our stay at Beach Republic. Probably one of the best rooms we stayed so far. Pool is ok. Mixed crowd. Could use a little maintenance in some areas. You either need to use a taxi or rent a moped or car to get around.

Room Tip: The penthouse suites as well as the rooms with the private pools are very nice.

We stayed beginning of February. Weather was great so everyday we spent part of the day near the pool..Yes must get in quick as daybeds go fast, very understandable as great music (chilled), beautiful pool area and great friendly staff thanks Aung. Food was excellent we were there for Chinese New Years lunch. Our room was a good size & comfortable. The only suggestion would be a couple of kayaks could be a added bonus :))

We went 2 times to Beach Republic, the 2nd time was our last day in Thailand and we wanted to stay in a place before our flight the same day. If not part of the hotel, you have to pay 1,000 bahts per person, this includes all the beverages and food you want up to 1,000 bahts so really worth it. The place and premises are beautiful, the beach according to us was much nicer than Chaweng and quite protected from the wind (no waves). The waiters and hostesses are super nice and friendly. Great choice of food and beverages for a good value for money. Cool atmosphere, with great music ( not too loud compared to Nikki beach).  Everything is pretty chilled so you'll have a nice time but don't expect a 'show off' atmosphere (unlike the Nikki). The hotel looks quite good but we haven't experienced it (it also has a spa).
