“Excellent Vacation Spot!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2011

Stayed here with some friends before heading back home and it was the perfect way to end our vacation to Thailand. The service was excellent, breakfast was complimentary and delicious and the pool/beach area was spectacular. We were greeted by elephant towel sculptures on our beds, which was a nice oriental touch. I would surely stay here again!

We stayed here for 2 weeks and when we arrived I thought we had made a huge mistake. We had a villa at the back of the resort with no view other than the other villas. We could hear the sea! It felt like a large boutique hotel. It is still small compared to other resorts and so poolside loungers and the dining area are typically cramped. The pool is small but my 10 year old son didn't seem to mind. While the food was excellent, the location also offers many pubs and restaurants to choose from along the main road through Lamai. There is a Tesco within walking distance. The room was clean and spacious. There is free wifi throughout but it is sometimes unreliable. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Book a villa close to the front of the hotel. You are paying for beachside, so you might as well enj...

We spent a 7 days family vacation in this lovely hotel. loved it very much. we asked and got 2 beach front villas A and B which were great. service in the hotel is very good and stuff are very friendly. The Lamai area is very recommended. service in the restaurant was slow.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2011

We stayed at Thai House Beach resort at Sep 2011 for 7 nights as a part of our trip in Thailand.

We had a standard room at the main building of the hotel which was a basic room but would say good value for money. The room was not very big but had anything we needed for during our stay on Ko Samui. It was clean, had coffee and tea making facilities, a TV with lots of channels, a good bed, they changed our towels and linens whenever we wanted, a basic bathroom with all bathroom facilities, a couch and small table in the bedroom, a desk and mirror and a veranda with a garden view with a table and chairs. The only bad thing I can say is that the walls had stains in some spots and needed a paint job and the room generally could use a basic restoration. Also the aircon was too cold at all temperatures.

We were also provided with beach towels which were changed every day and a beach basket which found it really helpfull.

The location was really good for staying in Ko Samui. The hotel is located in the middle of Lamai beach and the spot is really beautiful with palm trees, very quiet but not isolated, with a few steps we were in the buzzling of Lamai beach road (which was awful for my taste, I preferred the restaurants and bars by the beach). The hotel provided its customers with sun desks which was great every time we wanted to spend time on the beach. The sun desks were turned into dinner tables at night which was really romantic having dinner by the beach.

The breakfast was basic, maybe needs more variety. It had great omelette and thai food though and generally for us was just what we needed.

The hotel stuff was just fantastic! They were all great, very helpful, the front desk helped us very much with infos on where to go what to see, they can book cruises and trips for about everywhere on the island, suggested us many tour guides (who pick you up from the hotel).
The breakfast and beach stuff were great with the exception of the lady making the omellettes who was pretty rude to me (I don't know why I swear!)

We also had dinner at the Thai spices restaurant. One night we had thai food which was great and the other night we had barbecue food by the beach (fish, shrimps etc) which was fantastic. Here should say that the prices of the restaurant were very reasonable, good value for money. The hotel also had happy hour every afternoon were with one drink you get another for free (try the mango daquiri!)

The hotel also provides massage which was very good and relaxing by the beach and cost about 5 euro per hour.

We also had booked a transportation from and to the ferry pier (as a part of the hotel package) which met our expectation, they were punctual and very easy to communicate with and make the arrangement about the time of our arrival which we didn't know it from the start , but they were on time and very polite.

The swimming pool was also pretty great, not very big but very clean and cute. The hotel in general is a very beautiful boutique hotel with very beautiful surroundings, nice garden and in a very good spot and I strongly suggest it as a very good value for money and a relaxing stay.

Room Tip: I found the standard room average but the suites I saw by the pool were pretty nice though check if...

Our plan was just to enjoy our stay in Samui but the staffs are so helpful that they help to plan a trip for us visiting Ko Tao, and organized a private tour for 9 of us. Really nice place for relaxing holiday, the Lamai beach is clean and not crowded, hotel location is just a walking distance to shops. Close by to Tesco and Tamarind Springs, Id recommend renting a bike if you want to explore. Food are great too.Overall thumbs up

Lamai beach is much quieter than Chaweng and we preferred it. Lots of shops and restaurants. Hotel was really good, nice friendly staff, amazing manager who was always available to the guests. Breakfast was varied and interesting. Nice pool, leading onto the beach. You have to try there Banquet on the beach - Wow, I think I tried all the food on offer and everything was fantastic. As far as rooms go, if you can afford it go for the villa's on the front of the hotel, amazing views onto the pool and beach. Overall we really enjoyed this hotel and the area and were sad to leave.

Room Tip: Villas at front
