“Great for couples”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2013

Great location. Quiet but on main strip for restaurants and bars. Villas are a little small compared to others we have stayed in and pools are not temperature controlled so a bit cold but always beds available at main pool and beach. Breakfast is ok, lunch etc ok but loads of restaurants a short walk away anyway. Only downside was that there were a lot of mosquitos in the room despite us spraying mossie killer every night and using repellant. Loved Lamai beach as a resort and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel or resort.

We stayed at the pavilion for two weeks in the hydro pool villa number 302. The villa was clean and both equipment and design satisfied us on the whole line. Of course the pool was gold worth in the tropical climate. His size was more than only sufficient and equipped with nozzles for massage. The staff cleaned the room very thorough and changed even all the towels every day.
The staff of the hotel didn't look only for the rooms every day, they even looked round the clock for the whole resort. They cleaned the paths through the resort, the road in front of the pavilion boutique, the beach and looked after the vegetation in the resort. That's why the look of the pavilion was all times in perfect condition.
The whole staff was friendly and tried all the time to make the holiday as dreamy as it just could be. It even was not possible to lay down a towel on the beach couch on your own because when the staff saw you coming to the beach, they just asked where you wanted to lie and than prepared the couches and sunbrella for you. From time to time the staff asked you for some cold drinks, but they were not obtrusive.
The taste and quality of the food in the resort were all times amazing. The breakfast was very rich. There was continental and Asian food. Even baked beans potatoes and sausages for the British guest were to find.
When you walk through the beach in left or right direction you could see the differences of the resorts and environment near the hotels so a guest with high claims could come to only one conclussion:the Pavillion is, if you want to stay in Lamai, the only place to be. Before we come we thought about staying in the ammatara pura resort, but when we saw how it was located, we were glad to have chosen the pavilion.
Sure there are other great hotels on samui like for example the W resort in maenam which we visited on a tour on our own through the Island, but if you want to have a little bit of nightlife nearby it's not an alternative.
All in all my wife and I definitely will come back-not only for one more time.

Thank you for a great holiday.

Mr. and Mrs. Nowak

This is an excellent hotel worth recomending. We stayed for 3 weeks in one of the villas with a private atrium and hydro spa-pool. Wonderfull. The hotel is situated in the middle of Lamai and next to the beach. Beautyfull architecture and decoration. Wonderfull garden-area leeds to the villas and the beach. The restaurant is offering great food and wine. The breakfast is excellent. Internet working. Staff always observant and doing everything they can to make your stay unforgetable. Can't get any better!

Room Tip: Try to get a villa with spa. Unbelivable!

We choose the Pavilion because when we visited Koh Samui 4 years ago we came for dinner at The Patio and thought it enchanting. Furthermore, we have a 2 year old now and beach access near Lamai and our 'own' bungalow seemed a good idea.

The Pavilion, 4 years later, is not as enchanting as remembered but it is still a high end resort with pretty much all of the amenities you would expect. The staff are professional and very friendly, the other guests reserved but not stuck up and the proximity to Lamai is useful if you want to escape for a short time with a small child.

As is customary the on site spa is super expensive but given that they are 10 other much more affordable ones within a 5 minute walk then no harm is done. The food at The Patio is good but with a few exceptions unmemorable. As for the food at the Outlook Bar...the menu is limited and nothing to write home about. However, two buildings down the beach towards the south and there is Utopia (see separate review) and that makes a welcome change if you do not really fancy leaving the resort. Noise from nearby bars, the sea and building sites are regular companions but somehow they are not intrusive.

We have greatly enjoyed our time here and will no doubt return.

Can you ask more of a place to stay for 3 weeks? We recommend this Boutique hotel in Lamai Beach. It is an Oasis in the middle of the busy main street and with a nice area going directly down to the private beach.
The hydro pool villas are nice and comfortable. Pls note that 60 m2 includes also the atrium and the pool! The living room is fairly small, but the villa is nice and comfortable and you can relax without being disturbed by anyone.
Breakfast at beachside is varied and good. Waiters extremely observant and kind. All staff in the resort do es their best to help you in a very friendly way.
And the hotel is located judt in the middle of the road going through Lamai, so you have shops, stalls and restaurants just on your doorstep, but without any disturbance when you go to the resort. There is a small gym for exersize as well.
The Patio Restaurant is among the best in Lamai and it offers theme nights, such as a Thai night with Thai food and entertainment, an Italian night with pasta etc, a Seafood night og a Steak night.
We would recommend this place for a nice stay in Lamai Beach area.
Not cheap, though - but worth the money if you look for a good offer on one of the hotel websites with discounts.

Room Tip: A hydro pool villa gives you your own small swimming pool with total privacy.

The good:
Beautiful resort, Great rooms, great main pool/pool bar area, great food. Great location, on the end of the main Lamai strip (shops, resturants, bars etc). Great service, always happy to help with anything.
The bad:
Beach sand is very coarse, not good to walk on at all!! Pool villas are very close together and we could see over the walls into the next villas and there are rooms above who's balconys looked straight in to our pool area. No privacy....

Room Tip: Get the only big pool villa that is right on the beach, If you can afford it. Amazing!! It's the...
