“Nice surrounds but not the best buffet I have had for this price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2013

The starters are realy nice (fresh cooked satey was cold though ???)
mains were a little bland
pudding was quite adventurous - liked the puddings.

dissapointed on the main courses - for the price expected more expensive ingreadients.
no lobster no tiger prawns instead lamb, beef, chicken
usual fair of green curry ......

I don't know if the buffet encoraged me enough to book a table for a proper meal, well actully it dident so we never.

“Fun fun day”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2013

We went to the Beach Republics Sunday brunch on 30th of December as a group of 6 adults and a child(8). The buffet was great as always and accomodates for everyones taste - kids, foreigners and thai (2 in our group). The atmosphere is just fabolous and we stayed there for 7 hours and all had a great time in this relaxing and beautiful atmosphere. Thanks to the great staff, the DJ and the designers of BR...only problem were the hangovers it caused for the New Years eve day....

“A luxurious but expensive Sunday brunch to die for”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2012

We went to Beach Republic for their famous Sundays Sessions: 4 hours of heavenly relaxing by the pool, listening to some nice chill dj-music, sipping a fantastic welcome mojito (included) and enjoying the magnificent buffet with virtually everything you could wish for. It included salads, fish dishes, mediterranian specialities, sushi, various thai dishes, a selection of prepared meats (beef, pork, lamb, chicken, you name it), a grill master who would cook you what you like, and of course, a fantastic set of desserts: cakes, fruits, ice cream etc. The drinks were not included in the buffet price. The food, the service and the atmosphere were just perfect. But luxury of this level is not cheap. In the end we paid around 3400 BHT (89 EUR) for the fun: 1400 BHT + taxes + service charge for the buffet and 60 BHT for a bottle of water per person. So, if you are not short on dough and want to get probably one of the best buffet experiences of your life, this is the place to be on Sunday afternoon. Otherwise be aware of your travel budget!

“Nothing special”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2012

We used to come to this place in early 2011, and it was fabulous! However the general chic of the restaurant is slowly wearing out. Food has become worse since then. The red color of the sofas, chairs and flags looks faded, the menus also show signs of use.
The food is still EXPENSIVE. We ordered hummus with pita bread, pizza margherita and Thai fried rice with shrimp.
To start with ... the hummus had a distinct taste of fungus and was non-eatable. I informed the manager about this and this dish was cancelled from my bill (thanks for being responsive!)
Pizza was OK. Fried rice tasted worse than in an average Thai street food shop. For these two dish and an orange juice we paid 790 Baht, I'd better eaten somewhere in Lamai instead.
Overall - not recommended.

Thank you for visiting Beach Republic and thank you for taking the time to leave your reply here. As far as the beach chairs, of course there is some fading in the tropical sun and the covers are changed regularly. Your experience with the cuisine is not at all the norm and I would like to personally apologize. I do hope that you return again and give us another chance to show you the very high standards that we strive for.

“Overpriced and overrated!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012 via mobile

We went there for dinner, firstly it was so dark with all the dim lighting I couldn't read my menu they had to bring me a torch!! The bread was stale!! The main course was ok and drinks were good but again overpriced!! The service was really good though. No wow factor has potential but the food needs improvement and turn the damn lights on!!!

Thank you for visiting Beach Republic and for taking the time to leave a review here. I'm glad that you felt the service was very good. We put a lot of time and effort into training and it is always nice when this is recognized. We offer a beautiful experience where guests enjoy dining under the stars looking out over the ocean at the lights of the various fishing boats. The lights in the beach club have been kept low on purpose so as to compliment the atmosphere. Torches are provided to assist in reading the menu. The prices are quite reasonable and are on par with other top tier properties across Koh Samui. In many cases we are less expensive than other well known restaurants on the island. Thank you again for taking the time to leave your comments here. We look forward to welcoming you back to Beach Republic soon.
