“FANTASTIC FOOD!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013

We recently stayed at the very beautiful Ban Sua Chaweng Noi for 10 days and went out in search of the Shamrock Irish Bar in Lamai, where we had eaten on a previous visit about 3 years ago. Thankfully they were still there and once again we were not disappointed!! We loved it so much. that we ate there every night for the 10 days. Mostly we ordered Thai food as we love it so much, especially their Thai Green Curry which is exceptional and the best and most authentic we have ever had in Thailand. Obviously, being an Irish Pub, they did a selection of great Irish Pub Fare, including the best Fish and Chips ever. They have daily specials and Sunday Roasts. The Staff, including Daniel Kelly, the owner, were exceptional. We were greeted every day with a great big smile and hello. The beers arrived on our table in minutes and the food came out of the kitchen very quickly. Every meal we had, and we tried lots of different ones, were all just as fabulous. The restaurant has a lovely open atmosphere, however you don't feel like you are sitting on the pavement. They have a beautiful bar and also quite a few television sets which they can tune into different sports, so we were able to watch the Grand Prix and Wimbledon Mens finals at the same time!! If you're looking for great Thai food, don't for one second think it can't be done in an Irish Pub. We have booked to stay at Ban Sua again for 20 days in June 2014 and look forward to going back to our favourite restaurant in the East every night! Thanks to Daniel and all his fantastic staff and chefs!

“Good music obnoxious service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013 via mobile

The title says it all. The bar staff are offhand and arrogant. The misic is not as good as it once was. There are newer places in Lamai. Voted with my feet.

“Seriously dont overlook this place...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013

Its easy to overlook this place. It looks like a "standard" Irish pub but seriously the food is some of the best you will find on Koh Samui. The staff are great, quick to help and always smiling and friendly but the highlight is the food. The fish and chips are perfect, best I think I've ever had, good selection of Western and Thai options & hats off to the chef he does a great job.

My only negative would be avoid the ribs / steak options, the grill isnt the best but the rest rocks... we will be back.

“Nice pub.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013

I haven't been there except one occasion one sunny afternoon. Just came in to have some refreshments and a grub. I ordered pad thai with seafood, but supply wasn't enough so I just went with plain chicken noodle soup. Oh my, that was very good.
Mojito was too sweet, I guess, bit overdone on sugar part.
