We spent 4 nights at Weekender in February 2013 with my sister. At first sight the standard bungalow seemed a little small but we got used to it:) The resort has a perfect pool terrace surrounded by sun beds, tables and a very cozy bamboo house. The bar and restaurant is there too so you can have breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack, drinks while you are enjoying the sun or the shadow. Below the terrace there is a small sandy beach. Don't surprise if it disappears in the morning, high tide can hide it for a couple of hours. Theoretically you can walk along Lamai beach but it is very tide dependent. The resort is 10-15 minutes walk from Lamai's main tourist street but you can find everything (shop, ATM, restaurants) close to the resort, too.
The staff is adorable, they have very good kitchen, my favorite was the curry soup.
However I don't recommend the tour around the island program which is advertised in the hotel's bar. The visited sights are ok but it takes almost 6 hours from what 3-4 hours is sitting in a small van (e.g the first one hour is about picking up other passengers at different Lamai hotels) If I could do it again I would
(1) choose an other tour agency with the open safari like jeaps because they seemed much more fun than the crowded vans run by our agency (RS Travel and Tours)
(2) rent a bike and do it for myself.
Overall this resort is a perfect place to spend couple of days during your trip at reasonable prices.
