“Long weekend”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2013

Was very good. Plenty to do on estate but also very quiet and relaxed. So depends on what you want to do. Weather could have been better and would have liked to spent more time on beach. Would like a big fridge in kitchen but the bar fridge worked okay in the end.

The grounds of the estate and the golf course are really impeccable. We went for long walks daily and it was such a pleasure - in the middle of the winter. The villas are privately owned and one could see a clear difference between the "dated and neglected" ones and some very nice renovated villas. We stayed in a friend's unit so at least there were no nasty surprises. My advice is just to be very careful when you book.. The beach is also stunning - walking distance with a blue flag rating.

Spent long weekend on this secure estate in self catering unit. Grounds well maintained, beautiful golf and mache courses. Bowls, tennis also available. Easy access to blue flag beach. Good for swimming and walking. Various units available. Lovely walks along waterways. Abundance of birdlife, buck, monkeys on estate. Really enjoyed our stay. Restaurant at hotel on estate good. Good base to explore the lower South Coast

Room Tip: Villas around lakes are cool during summer as they are shady

Our villa (12407) was old and dated. Couch was broken. Rooms small, beds uncomfortable with cheap polyester pillows and linen. Very expensive for what we were offered and I was disappointed. This unit is in serious need of a complete upgrade. The estate itself is lovely, especially for older children and it is a great golfing destination. The beach however is awful and dirty with bins overflowing everywhere.

Room Tip: Insist on a unit with a pool and a sea-view.

Booked accommodation through the official rental company on their website. Their Villas were in a shocking state of disrepair. They stink. Furnishings are run down. Saw cockroaches, spiders and massive wasp nests. Not worth the price they charge.

I cannot understand how they continue to rent these Villas out.

Go there at your own risk. I wonder if there is tourism body that regulates these guys.

The location is excellent and I am sure there are better properties available through private individuals. The properties from the official website are certainly a no go area.

Stayed here with friends. This estate is in a super location and is very secure and safe, with lifeguards on the beach too. Our unit had everything we needed. A great base for exploring the local area, some time on the beach, relaxing by the pools, golf and spa, etc. Plenty of wildlife. Would like to visit again. A nice local restarant: "Mariners" just off the beach.
