“Good value but noisy location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2013

Stayed here recently. Warm welcome and reasonable food although over-priced in our estimation for the quality provided. Rooms are quirky but comfortable and clean. Plenty of hot water to shower after a long day. However, rooms face the main road through Fulbourn and from 6am it is very noisy with transport vehicles accessing Cambridge from that direction. Friendly staff.

Arrived at the pub to be greeted by friendly staff . The bar area and restaurant area were tastefully
Decorated . As the sun was out we sat outside with drinks until it was time to eat .
We went inside and were shown to our table , given the menus and also some bread and oil to eat while making our choices .
I had the pie of the day with fresh vegetables and potatoes . This was really nice and worth the money . After having a starter aswell there was no room for a dessert !
To sum up nice pub , food and staff ....

We found the White Hart by chance as we drove through the villages around Cambridge and decided to eat dinner there. The restaurant was delightful and the food was excellent, quite a step up from many pub restaurants we have eaten in. The service was friendly and good. The restaurant had a very welcoming ambiance that made us feel very comfortable and the cost was good value for money. There was plenty of parking space. We will go there again if we pass that way.

We recently spent one night here. Our room was small but very comfortable and pleasantly decorated. The bathroom needed some updating. The only problem was that our room (No. 1) was directly above the kitchen fans which were extremely noisy at times and served as our wake-up call although it did seem slightly larger than some of the other rooms The bar/restaurant itself was very attractive with a lovely outside area and our evening meal was delicious as was the breakfast the next morning. Our breakfast was absolutely excellent with everything freshly cooked and the ingredients were very good quality. The staff were very pleasant throughout our stay.

Room Tip: If possible avoid room 1

We stayed at the White Hart whilst enjoying a short break in the Cambridge area and really enjoyed our stay. After reading the reviews we booked a larger double room and this was very comfortable and well appointed (room 1) The breakfasts were delicious as was a lunchtime meal that we had, and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. If we travel to the Cambridge area again we would certainly stay at the White Hart.

Room Tip: Book a large double as you can get to both sides of the bed!

We've been coming to The White Hart regularly for meals over the years, as our daughter runs the Cambridge Cat Clinic in Fulbourn but had not stayed there till this weekend. Dinners an lunches are always excellent and we were not disappointed by the accommodation. We stayed in Rom 1, which is a small double bedroom with an even smaller en suite, but everything was provided. Fresh, clean fittings and linen (particularly fluffy towels!), tea and coffee making facilities with biscuits in the room and a decent TV with freeview. We paid £80 including an excellent breakfast and our granddaughter who turned up in time for breakfast had a "Not so full" English breakfast with toast, orange juice and eggs, mushrooms and beans for £5 all in, which we thought was great value for money! The staff are really lovely and helpful and we will stay again!

Room Tip: All the rooms are very quiet, but we thought room 1 was a bit on the small side. Ask if one of the...

One night was enough!! Room 1 is small and dark, the bedside lamps were dim with dark shades, neither my husband nor I are very big but we had to shuffle sideways around a very small double bed, slide into the bathroom and turn around to use the toilet, having to put toothbrushes on the cistern lid (for lack of a shelving unit due to space restriction) would send an infection control advisor crazy, there was a distinct lack of amenities e.g. shower cap, tissues and the paintwork needed remedial action. We asked to change rooms but were told they were fully booked. If it was up to me I'd have priced it at £50 not £80. However the evening meal was delicious, the waitress was cheerful and informative. Next morning the breakfast was disappointing, a long wait for toast, no yoghurt or fresh fruit, coffee by the cup not a caffetiere. To sum it up Fantastic for dinner shame about the rest. We won't be back..

Room Tip: Avoid room 1, I understand the other rooms are nicer
