We followed road signs to this winery without any planning at all...very glad we did.
We had a personal tour from the owner who spoke very, very good english. He gave us not only very detailed information about the processes & produce that they use, but also about the wine industry as a whole in Crete/Greece.
Karavitakis winery is all about the quality of wine - not quantity...and this is displayed in the passion of the owner & the taste of their products.
A mention should also go to the olives & cheese offered alongside the wine tasting. These were the best that we tried during our stay...the cheese (an aged gruyere) is absolutely stunning & knocked the socks off anything else we tried in Crete.
