“Thoroughly enjoyed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2014

After reading all the reviews before we left I was slightly apprehensive, but after my experience i cannot understand the bad reviews and would definitely return to the hotel. Me and my girlfriend recently spent a week at the resort and generally we thought it was fantastic. We found that some aspects of the hotel were rated a 5 star but probably a few were only a 4 star. Firstly the room was absolutely brilliant, we stayed premium all inclusive and had a full sea view over looking the quiet private pool which was nice. we liked that fact that there were always sun beds available regardless of the time of day you went down by the pools. in fact the entire setting of the hotel is fantastic, it really is spacious! We were really impressed by the amount of pools as well as the size of them. we found the food in the other restaurants were excellent, although I would say the main buffet restaurant is more like a normal 4 star buffet but there was still enough to cater for any kind of person. The location is brilliant if you want a relaxing chilled out experience as it in a secluded spot but the nearest village is only a 10 minute walk along the coast. The private beach is also great with plenty of beds, sun on it all day with plenty of water activities jet skis etc if that is your kind of thing. We found the staff in general to be really friendly and helpful. The only major downside we found which is repeating others and mentioning the amount of Russians and how the vast majority didn't seem to understand that it is rude to just push in front of you in queue for food and drink etc. But other than that little moan the hotel is brilliant and wouldn't hesitate to go back.

P.S a message to the hotel, one member of staff made our holiday, it was the pool barman I think his name was Iaonnis or something like that. The man was brilliant serving us drinks on a night time he was always smiling, he made us want to stay outside and stay clear of the grumpy barman on the inside bar. Iaonnis was generally a really nice bloke answering all our queries, couldn't rate him highly enough!!

The first appearance of the hotel is what you expect when advertised as 4 star. What you do not get is a level of service one would expect. We went all inclusive (diamond). The food is not four star and the service poor because there is not enough staff employed. Where I felt let down was that every single drink I had to go and get my self. This meant every time waiting in a queue and in the evening that could take up to 15 minutes (believe me). The rooms are very good and very clean and all the staff very friendly and helpful. However, the standard of the food is not satisfactory and the need to queue for every single drink spoilt what should have been a wonderful holiday. Also be aware a number of guest are from Russia. They are the most inhospitable people and do not think they have to queue and can be quite unpleasant. Sorry, lovely hotel, nice staff after that it fails badly.

We recently spent a week at the Minos Imperial. The staff were unfailingly pleasant, and as helpful as could be.The food was very good, and thoughtfully presented. The only downside was the vast influx of Russians, who thought that no rules applied to them.Obvious courtesies like dressing appropriately for dinner, not invading allocated quiet areas with hordes of babies and children, and general disregard for other guests pleasure. The staff were very sympathetic, and tried to remedy these discrepancies, but they obviously can't get physical !!! The room and the general facilities were good, and we did enjoy our week. The owner is a very nice, approachable man,who cares very much that your stay there is a happy and pleasant experience, which overall it was.

Room Tip: suites on the corner have more windows,so are therefore sunnier and quieter

"A period of leisure or stay in an location for pleasure" sums it up perfectly.
A remote resort with good quality and excellent service.
Diamond class recommended to overcome some peoples interpretation of all inclusive.
Would suggest you try all the available dinning and drinking experiences, there is something for everyone.
Will be back.

Room Tip: Suites advisable if budget permits.

We were slightly concerned after reviewing all comments on Tripadvisor. But please do FORGET all of this and experience it yourself, it's a wonderful "green" resort! We stayed here for ten days in June and we had an excellent holiday. The availability of several different pools (even an adult pool), the fantastic panaromic view, wonderful food, great wines and the excellent service made our holiday a great experience. What really makes the difference at this resort is the professional & friendly staff. They deserve a rating of 10+! A special thank you goes to Mr. Vasilis Giannios and Mr. Yorgos Geniatakis for their continuous efforts to improve the hospitality services. For sure we'll be back!

Not a British 5 star, but good value for money.
Very isolated hotel so taxis or hire car needed to travel around but would recommend using the Happy Train to venture around the local towns as nice 1/2 day out.
Stayed in VIP Junior Suite with Jacuzzi. Wish we went for the pool, but with young toddler thought not such a good idea, but some of the rooms with pools and hammocks are gorgeous! You wouldn't be disappointed.
Adult only pool looks fab and quiet.
Great staff in general.
Most guests were Russians.
Any problems were quickly rectified.
Excellent massage.
Pools very clean and tidy.
Quite a lot of noise at night, but with a big hotel kind of expected.
Definitely recommend the diamond class to use the different restaurants as same food most nights in buffet style restaurant. Best restaurants are the Chinese, Laguna and Verona. Diamond class guests also can use the Verona bar which is lovely and named drinks included.
Evening Entertainment wasn't great unfortunately, a few singers but too loud and not our taste.
No drinks available at kids disco so walk down to sea side bar, would be much more convenient to have a bar up there. Opening the quiet pool bar at night would be ideal as much closer.
Kids entertainment very good.
We had a buggy & access to various parts of hotel, like down to the main pools was difficult even with the use of lifts we had to carry the buggy as lots of steps and pretty steep in places.
Most of hotel done to a high standard but parts of the hotel still need work.
Overall lovely holiday and would probably stay again.
Tea & coffee only available at night at seaside bar and not anywhere else.

Minos Imperial is a hidden holiday jewel in Milatos...stayed over for 2 nights for my birthday and what an experience it has been! Prompt check in and a heartful welcome, spacious room with amazing view and birthday welcome desserts to die for. The Asian restaurant is out of this world with show cooking and good variety of food. The drinks at the bar are mouthwatering and the pools awesome. Palm trees all around surrounded by well taken caren of gardens. But this is not all...what makes the difference in Minos Imperial is the friendly staff and their continuous efforts to exceed our expectations. A liitle incident with the wrong wine delivered to our table was easily fixed The GM of the Hotel walks around the property talking to guests and makes you feel like at home. Mr Yorgos...we will be back!
