“Worth a visit”

Interesting, well laid out small museum. Informative film, with commentary available in a number of languages. Wide range of olive oil and related products available in the shop. Worth a visit.

“Worth a visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2014

Interesting place to visit with a lovely shop. We did not check opening times, closes at 12.30 for lunch so allow enough time before or after to see properly. Brother-in-law loved his present of olives!

“Very nice place definitely worth to stop by for a quick tour”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2013 via mobile

Went there with some friends. The museum is not too big but rich and well organized. The shop offers a wide variety of products of very good value. The people working there are awesome, very accomodating, prepared and very nice. Highly appreciatd the tasting experience at the end. Definitely worth the visit

“A captivating little museum!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2013

Olive oil has been produced in this beautiful area of Lake Garda for over a thousand years. This small museum provides (free) a fascinating history of the olive oil production. It was the first such museum in Italy when it was opened in the 1980s.

Never having previously visited an Olive Oil Museum, I was captivated by all the exhibits here. There is a short video (in English, Italian, French, German and Dutch) from which you learn the various methods used to extract oil from the precious fruit. All the displays are well presented, with helpful captions (in English as well as other languages).

There is an excellent shop in which you can taste some olives and wine. You can also buy, as we did, good quality olive oil, beautiful soaps and tea with olive leaves from the helpful and cheerful staff.

The car park is really small. We were lucky – at the time of our arrival, the place wasn’t very busy and we found it easy to park just outside the museum.

“Average at best, but beware of the parking tickets!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2012

The museum itself isn't bad, but DEFINITELY not recommended for kids. You'll find it more stressful than anything else. However, if it's only adults that are interested in this kind of thing, it could be a nice way to spend an afternoon before heading out for the evening.

They did have a nice selection of oils, wines, seasonings, sauces, etc. that you can purchase in the store after the tour.

***There is very limited parking, and if it's busy, there may be cars parked along the road. BEWARE...this is a Bike Lane and you will likely get a very pricey parking ticket!!!
