My husband and I and our little boy have just returned from a wonderful stay at the Galeazzi. From start to finish everything ran smoothly and we were incredibly well looked after during our stay; our little boy in particular was made to feel very special! The team of 19 staff at the hotel, led by the lovely Rosanna and Caroline, are excellent; friendly, hard-working, helpful, very efficient and knowledgeable. Their attention to the 'small things' that matter is second to none and they add a personal touch in all that they do whether it be arranging extra pillows, organising special meal times (and meals!) for the baby, helping with your luggage or waving you off on your departure! The fantastic kitchen team is led by the very talented Marcus and as such, the food is of an excellent quality and beautifully presented every night. Even our baby's meals were very thoughtfully presented and he enjoyed every one! The packed lunches are a welcome addition and Jacob does a great job in making lots of sandwiches for the guests every day! The wine is plentiful throughout dinner and the bar has a range of cocktails - Lara, the bar supervisor is open to suggestions for new drinks so make sure you try a Lemon Spritz which one of the guests suggested! Meeting for canapes and apperitivos before dinner is a lovely idea and gives the chance to make new friends. Rosanna takes the time every night to talk to each guest during dinner time and she really is an excellent host! The grounds are very well maintained by Rex who, like all the staff, is very friendly and chatty and if there are any problems he fixes them straight away (the wind had blown down part of the canope during our stay and it was fixed within minutes!). The shaded area is great if you don't like to be out in the sun or if you have a baby/child. Neil the rep is a lovely guy - very funny, quick-witted and hard-working; he's always working! He takes the time to talk to all his guests every day and makes thoughtful suggestions and gives helpful hints and tips. The wine tasting night he hosts with Rosanna is great fun, as is the quiz night!
A couple of other people have mentioned traffic noise, but I can honestly say that we were never bothered at all by this and we were in room 104 at the front of the hotel. It would be impossible for all hotels to be on the lake side itself so inevitably some like the Galeazzi will be located near the main road. We were never once disturbed by this and our baby slept through the night throughout the week.
We really had a lovely holiday in a great hotel and a beautiful part of Italy and would highly recommend the Galeazzi. The outstanding team of staff will ensure that you want for nothing and will really add to your holiday. We would love to go back one day. Thank you to all concerned x
Room 104 has a lovely terrace rather than a balcony and if you look to the right you can see the lak...
