“Good budget hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2012

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights with my boyfriend. The hotel is small with a wonderful garden environment. We stayed in a standard room. Our room had an extra bed which provided extra space for clothes & other items. The beds weren't super comfortable but you get what you pay for. The real selling point of this hotel is the extremely friendly staff. They always have a smile on their face & are always willing to help. The location is great, it's only about 2 minutes drive away from the mall, and the capital Scarborough & some beaches are also minutes drive away. Although there is a beach that's within walking distance of the hotel, there are much nicer beaches in the Crown Point area. I LOVEEEE Pigeon Point beach. We didnt eat at the restaurant so unfortunately I cannot give a review on it. The only drawback is that the TV is sooooo small, it's time for an upgrade guys

We stayed two nights at the Bamboo Walk Hotel. The room we had was clean and spacious enough for our stay. The only thing was the TV was on a unit that was lower than the sleighbed styled foot board, therefore allowing for a slight uncomfy time "trying" to watch tv. Only two small pillows provided and no top comforter on bed. Walls are a bit "thin" and on the first night, we were disturbed by the party that checked in next to us quite a bit! Thank goodness we were tired enough to sleep through some of it.
The staff was very friendly. The surf and turf restaurant was very nicely laid out and the food was delicious (portions were somewhat small)
The pool area was well kept and we had it to ourselves.
Will recommend for other visitors. (make sure you have a vehicle to get around).

Room Tip: Bring your own food to room if you are on a tight budget.

Bamboo Walk Hotel is a small, pretty quiet and cozy hotel which was great for myself and my partner. It is not that appealing from the outside but it's a great place. Our room was a good size, roomy and had a nice fragrance. The entire room was very clean, the linens were fine and the bathroom was extremely clean as well. I really loved the Bamboo theme throughout - from the Bamboo separating the patios to the Bamboo print on the shower curtains. There was a mini fridge in our room as well and cable tv. The staff was very very helpful and friendly, Tanja in reception gave a nice welcome and Sam and Phillip from in the Restaurant always had a way of making us smile....we loved their fun. Sonia was nice too. The food at the restaurant was a little pricey but we had already budgeted for that, so it was not a problem and it was tasty. We had lamb for dinner one night and were pretty impressed by the taste. There was karaoke one night which I think was a good way to bring the guests together in a fun environment. Even when we went to bed, the music from the karaoke did not bother us. We had only one concern and that was the luke warm to cool water that we showered in. However, as soon as we made our concerns known to the staff, they speedily addressed the matter and in no time, we had our hot water. There was wifi in the rooms, even though the signal was somewhat low, but it was stronger in the restaurant. The pool was small, cozy and clean, the size was not a problem as the hotel is not that big. Bamboo Walk was in walking distance from Gulf City Mall, one of the most well known malls in Tobago and that was GREAT for us, we did a lot of shopping. If you are looking for a quiet, cozy get-a-way, then Bamboo Walk Hotel is the way to go. Generally it was a very pleasant stay and I will return as long as I'm back in Tobago.

Room Tip: The Superior Rooms seem to be at a better location than the Standard rooms.

On first look the grounds are fairly landscaped well and the pool is inviting.

Unfortunately it does not translate to the rooms. The superior room is large with a big bathroom, the linens on the bed are thin and worn the bookcase acting as a closet had a thin worn curtain. The bathroom tiles are old, musty and moldly and the shower water pressure is very low with luke warm hot water.

The fridge smelled of old fish, so you know we did not use it. The sliding door kept coming off the tracks and was a pain to lock once you got it back on.

The electrical wiring was also a mess as when you turn off or on the lights the air-condition would trip.

The staff however are friendly, but it's no value for money, but it could be fine for one night no longer

Travelling on my own I found at Bamboo Walk everything I needed: a simple yet clean and spacious room, lovely staff that provided precious advice and organized my trips plus great location in proximity of all the major points of interest in the Lowlands. Definitely recommended.

if it is a couple , I suggest paying the extra $ and get the superior suite , the beds are bigger.
There is a restaurant on site that provide to your every need. The location could not be more perfect , a central point for all commuting. 1 min for gulf city mall. staff excellent and friendly, grounds are well kept and the rooms quiet NB please do not confuse with the apartments located lower down the street.
If you stay there I highly recommend the friday night karaoke!
