“Worth a visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2012

We recently had an early evening meal here. Lovely location on the banks of the Shannon in Dromod Harbour. Excellent service and great food. We recommend the steak frites and vegetable risotto.

“Wonderful food, friendly service and beautiful location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2012

3 of us lunched at Harkins last week while staying in the Leitrim area. We actually planned to have coffee only but couldn't resist when we saw the wonderful menu! The restaurant is located on the harbour in Dromod and, luckily for us, the weather was lovely enough to allow us to eat outside. The lady who served us (proprietor I think) was very friendly and chatty and made us feel very welcome. We just ordered starter portions each but the food was simply delicious and very filling. I had the pork belly which came with a potato and leek cake - it really was scrumptious. I would go back for that alone! We had planned to go back for dinner during our short stay but unfortunately didn't manage to fit it in. Highly recommended

“Super Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2012 via mobile

We were a family of six - Grandparents, parents and twins of two years of age.
The Owner made us feel most welcome.
The food was delicious.
We sat outside under a large umbrella in this super location.
We returned the next night for a repeat performance !!!

“Superb food and magnificent location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2012

We met up with family last week and we had a coffee in Harkins, we sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful scenery. The Bistro is situated beside the harbour. The service was excellent. The staff were friendly. That evening we decided to book a table for 6 adults. The food was superb. This is a little gem of a restaurant. Definetly well worth a visit.

“Pleasant Surprise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2012

Stopped off for lunch without a booking whilst on a cruise of the shannon. The host was most welcoming. We were allowed to charge our phones (there were 5 of us) for free. The food was very special - fish cakes are definitely worth a try and they are clearly passionate about wine and will guide you in your choice if you so wish.
The host told us that he was fully booked for that night so I assume that a booking is ordinarily a good idea at the weekends.
Price was excellent too.
