“Really liked it!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2013 via mobile

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights and we had a really lovely stay. We arrived to some construction but they put us in a room towards the back and could hardly hear it. Rooms are large and comfortable, same with the bathroom. Towels were changed everyday and the rooms were cleaned everyday too, although not thoroughly. Staff friendly and so chilled. Beach nice and clean. Breakfast not amazing but decent. We paid $50 for our room and we thought it was worth it. I really don't have bad things to say and I usually do!

We stayed in 2 family villas at the price of 50 $ pr. night incl. transport from the airport- Verty fine service also in connection withthe reservation.
The rooms are fairly basic, but very clean and ok kept, but we were missing places for hanging clothes or put aside our stuff and we also missed a chair at the writing desk.
The staff is cleaning the beach every morning and the area is nice and clean - despite loads of trash are being brought in by the sea....
Breakfast is only served till 9 a.m. which forces everybody to wake up early. Ok buffet breakfast is served. Restaurant was actually good with delicious reasonably priced food .
OK wifi with in the resort - best at outside areas.
Beds are terribly hard so we brought in the mattress from our loungers at the balcony.
There are no towels for the beach so bring your own.

Room Tip: Beach front looks really n ice but were occupied during our stay. Make an early reservation.

This was a very nice place to stay, especially when you stay in a beach villa. Everything is cleaned very often. The houses are not very big, but everything you need is there. Breakfast is fine but nothing special. Prices are not high compared to other resorts on Phu Quoc. There is a free transfer to and from the airport.

Room Tip: Take a beach villa and you are really close to the sea!

This place is nice located on the beach and you will have breakfast with sea view. The bungalows are hudge but without caracter. Every bungolow has Airco and WiFi, so you can google on the beach. The sunset is fantastic, but be aware that the flies show up a minutes later, so use some reppelant. There are a few restaurants nearby that are also on the beach and offer more value for money. Staff was friendly and helpful

We spent 3 nights in this hotel. We had a beach villa and the location was impressive. Unfortunately, in the first villa they gave us the air conditioning was broken and it was quite dark. A member of the staff came and pretended to go outside to repair the air conditioning, but after a while we saw him hiding behind the wall just waiting for time to go by before returning to us. We asked to be moved to another villa and that was absolutely fine- no problems with air conditioning and more light in the room. Anyway they did not offer any compensation or apology for having spent the first night without air con. What we found more disappointing was the staff: at check in they did not provide any information at all and when I asked for a map of the island I was given a photocopy with unreadable locations (too small). The man at the reception did not even point me to where we were (he did when I asked, again without adding anything else, despite the fact we had just rented a scooter from
him and were going to explore the island).
Very poor breakfasts - the worst we had in 3 weeks of South East Asia. The beach is stunning but dirty - the hotel staff could have cleaned up all the trash in front if it!

great location but I expected a bit more for the price here. The rooms lack a kettle to make tea/ coffee although there is complimentary tea/ coffee provided daily plus you can walk down to the restaurant for hot water so if you like a tea in the morning you go without. The bathrooms were similar to guesthouses where the shower is right near the toilet and there is no separate cubicle, so you end up using the towels to mop down the floor and toilet each day. I guess paying $45 a night I expected similar standard to Hanoi or Saigon hotels at this price, and we have stayed in hotels around the $30 range in Vietnam which were much better. Staff also not interested at check in and didn't provide any information unless asked. The rooms provide a mosquito net over the bed but really they could have put some screens on the windows, I think the place has been cheaply built and then not maintained, rooms need a spruce up. Nice deck chairs on your balcony but you need to carry the mattresses down to chairs on the beach. There could be a stash of mattresses near the beach chairs, the staff spend time sweeping the beach which is not really needed. They could be giving out mattresses or painting some of the rooms. P.S don't buy shuttle transfers on the boat over if you have a reservation, the guy is after a commission

Lovely resort located on the beach. Villas are fairly basic, but very clean and well-kept and good value. We have stayed in a similar resort almost 3x the price of sea star, on the same island, and can say that sea star is much better value for money. Restaurant was good, food was lovely, and reasonably priced. Staff were generally very friendly and helpful. Impressive buffet breakfast. I would say this is a couple's resort, so not ideal for backpackers or lone travellers, however we still really enjoyed our time there. Dogs and cats roam the resort freely, which is great if you like dogs and cats. Impressed that the resort had wifi.
