Beautiful location, exceptional service, gourmet food with the famous Italian hospitality. An ideal base for hiking, skiing, etc. Everything was wonderful only wellness could be a bit larger and wifi throughout the hotel.

Very nice hotel, big room for 2 adults and 2 kids, quite place. We liked it a lot. Food is OK but service at dinner is a little bit slow. Recommended for a quite and peacuful holiday with the family. The room was very big and we were very comfortable. There's a sauna and a swimming pool that are nice but you can access the sauna area only naked and this is a big limitation

The hotel is clean, illuminated, rarely I found more professional staff, clearly trained in hospitality. The hotel is aware that you come to let yourself pamper and they make their part. It is a great service. I didnt have to ask anything or call for anything: everything was just the way it had to be. The food is delicious and exquisitely served. They have an area for children right next to the restaurant where a nice babysitter plays with your children and make sure they get their own dinner. There are a few children areas and one is at open air. The children pool is warm up and the whole sauna-pool-fitness area is quite pleasant. The room is certaintly one of the best rooms I had in a hotel (I always go to 4-5 stars).

Small things is that you have to pay the drinks separately in the dinner, they make you sit too close to other people and sometimes the other guests are noisy; the internet is pretty expensive in room and only one computer can be used in reception for free. But that doesnt mean that the hotel doesnt deserve an excellet quallification.

Finally, as it is the first time I go to Merano 2000, I didnt know that they had a "funivia" and the hotel didnt mention in any information to the client that the tickets are included in the stay, seemed to me that they prefer you dont know this but when I asked they told me and I requested the tickets. It turned to be a really wonderful surprise!!! After the funivia you arrive to the mountains, can enjoy nature, make wonderful walks, there's an air castle for small children, concerts with great music and even the nicest bob of Italia is there!!!

The day came that we had to leave the hotel, it was sad and we enjoyed the last minutes watching the mountains in front of our balcony and taking the last breakfast. Something is certain: we will turn back.

Stayed there 2 weeks to relax and recharge.. I was very pleased. Staff is very friendly. Dinner buffet is very good - room was clean and nicely decorated . IDeal for skiers since it is just next to the lift that brings you on top of the mountain. Massage facilities are also excellent - try the STEINOEL massage ( stone oil massage) made with an oil that comes from Austria out of caves. Very child friendly.. I reccomend this to anyone young, old, single, in groups.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2008

We stayed 3 nights here in the summer, but it seems to really focus on being a ski hotel, since it is right beside the ski lifts. Firstly, despite the name it is not actually in Meran town itself. It's 17km drive up a mountain from Meran! However, the location is undoubtedly lovely and secluded, as you look out over the mountain-tops listening to the cow-bells.

On our arrival, the hotel reception girls were incredibly helpful and pleasant - a 'nothing is too much trouble' attitude. We were shown to our room, the smallest available, and found it spacious, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Everything was brand new and pristine.

The hotel is made up of apartments, where you can prep your own food. The kitchen was well-appointed with necessary utensils and crockery, tea-towels etc. There was a 2-ring hob and a good-sized fridge. However, if you don't want to self-cater, the restaurant is available. We ate there one evening and found it rather expensive for a 'home cooked' meal. The atmosphere was a bit Ikea-meets-Harvester, but it was child-friendly, if that's a requirement for you. Breakfast was good, with a huge German-style buffet and healthy options.

Like most Meran hotels, Merano 2000 has spa facilities. The pool was very nice and also I booked a lovely massage - you have to book on arrival or before, as the treatment rooms get booked up. The spa area was relaxing and well-maintained and guests are provided with towelling dressing-gowns and slippers to pad around the hotel in (if you want). I loved it!

Probably I would stay in central Meran next time, as there is more going on. However, I bet this hotel is a great spot during the ski season, both for skiers and non-skiers.

  • Liked — secluded location with all facilities within the hotel
  • Disliked — secluded location with mediocre restaurant
