“Wonderful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2013

One of the only resorts where I genuinly intend to return asap. A real respite for a weary traveller like myself.

Wonderful hotel, wonderful gardens, wonderful location and wonderful staff. Oh and the best rum punches anywhere!

Thans to everyone for a memorable stay.

Cant understand why anyone would say a bad word?

This is a very traditionnal hotel and that's what we like about it. It's not a super modern hotel but it has more charm than any new hotel. The gardens are amazing, I have never seen such high palm trees!! Our room was super clean and the food was really good. The beach area is bit crowed but we were there during easter break so it was very busy. The staff is very friendly and the service if over the top, they will make anything to make you happy. Holetown is about 10 minutes walking distance, which makes it very convienient. I really enjoyed my trip and I would surely go back anytime.

Have just returned from 2 weeks at the Colony Club, the best holiday we have had. Hotel and gardens absolutely gorgeous, food delicious and staff so very friendly and welcoming. We went on the island tour organised by the hotel which was fun, also visited Oistins for the fish fry (a real party). My daughters (15 and 13) did loads of watersports - you had to book for speedboat activities but they got a slot most days. Used the hobie cats, paddle boards, kayaks. Went out in the speedboat to swim with turtles and swim over the shipwreck - had to pay for this separately but well worth it as we went at 9.30 so before all the bigger catamarans arrive. Also did the bait to plate fisihing trip organised by the hotel but didn't catch anything!

Will definitely go back!!

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a wonderfully warm Bajan welcome. This is the place to really relax and feel at home in Barbados. Our suite was beautiful and very clean, cool and spacious.
Small things made a difference too. The personally signed welcome card from the hotel manager, followed by a personal welcome at breakfast the next day. Anything and everything we needed or wanted was arranged. Our children had the best time sailing, water skiiing (me too), kayaking and the water sport team guys were fantastic. There is no hesitation, we will definitely be back.

Have just returned from a very pleasant Easter family break. It's true that the resort is probably due a refurb, but deficiencies are cosmetic only and needn't detract from the experience. The tropical gardens, around which the rooms are arranged, are lovely, and the lagoon style pools which meander through them create lots of semi-private nooks and crannies for relaxing. The beach is great: sandy, palm-fringed and lapped by cobalt blue water; okay, there are a few rocks around, and it is in fact quite small so the sunbeds end up being fairly closely packed. Dawn sunbed-bagging is endemic. In fact with the hotel fairly full at Easter the only drawback was that with a fairly small area the resort did feel quite crowded, so you don't get that desert island feeling (that costs a bit more). An unexpected plus, though, turned out to be the free activities: these included sailing (hobie cats), water ski-ing, banana boat and ring rides, paddling and kyaking, as well as tennis coaching, nature walks, and more. Our room - a junior suite with garden view - was fine: there was just about room for 4 of us with the kids sharing a pull-out sofa bed, helped by a fair sized balcony overlooking the gardens. The best rooms are probably the luxury poolside ones which have a patio with direct access to the lagoon pool, though these are only for couples. Food is good but the frequent themed evenings are expensive and not child-friendly so we ended up using room-service quite a bit, although Holetown is very close and offers lots of alternatives (try Elbow Room). Staff and serivice genuinely friendly. All in all very good.
