“Still no improvement one year on!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2013

This was our second visit to the resort and this time was expecting some improvement on last year. But alas we wait in vain! The cottages are well past their best and are tired and dull. The television, without remote, belonged in a museum. The A/C unit was fine but the dirt within the vents was quite frankly scary. The bar area really should sit beside the street as some kind of walk up watering hole. There is no ambeance whatsoever and the bar decor and furniture has to be seen to be believed, doors falling off, dirty walls, dirty mirrors. The staff are ok particularly the cleaners and grounds staff, they do a very good job (with the exception off the A/C unit). The front desk is hit and miss, and sometimes the miss can be quiet surly and unhelpful. With the greatest respect to my fellow reviewers yes the resort is on the very desirable west coast and the price for that location is good, but the value and standard is very poor. The resort has to raise its game and has to ensure the customer is at the center of its operation.

Room Tip: Pool view rooms are preferable to garden rooms.

“Good trip on west coast, St. James”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2013

Got an excellent deal with BA, the villas here were basic but clean and well looked after. All staff friendly and helpful.
Lots of monkeys can be seen in the gardens.
Location is excellent, on west coast just inland from Sandy Crest shopping centre and down road from Sandy Lane. One of the best beaches on the island is just down the road, Paynes Bay.
Swim out a few hundred yards and spot the turtles!

“Great Base on The West Coast at Budget Prices”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

This is the 4th time we've stayed here and we love it! The apartments are spacious and clean with ceiling fans, plus the option of air-con at an extra charge ($US14 per day) and a safe (with a small additional charge). There is a fully operational kitchen, dining area, lounge, TV, plenty of wardrobe space, hair dryer. Everything that you need.

The staff are lovely, especially Nyoka and Kelly. Nothing is too much trouble for them at all.

The apartments are in the heart of the quiet residential area of Sunset Crest. You can even see the green monkeys playing every morning on the field at the back of the apartments!

This time we had an apartment with a pool view. However in the past we have had garden view apartments which we did prefer, but both are good.

It is around a 15 minute walk to Holetown where you will find all the fabulous restaurants. There is a convenience store 5 minutes down the road and a supermarket in Holetown. The Europa operate a daily shuttle bus which will take you to the local beach. We didn't use this as we love the beach walk or local bus to Paynes Bay.

You also get 10% off meals at The Beach House. Make sure you check your bill though as our 10% had been missed off!

We would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be coming back.

Room Tip: All rooms are good

“Over 10 visits....Friendly, Quiet, Good Value, Basic and Clean”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

Having stayed at All Seasons resort many times, we have just returned from another wonderful holiday.........two weeks relaxing in the sunshine in this quiet resort.

I have written a review before on All Seasons and l have just read a few recent reports on the accomodation and the expectations of travellers so l felt that l needed to do another one and put my two pennyworth in again.

Pay the little bit extra and go for a Pool room...well worth the extra money, if you cant afford to do it, the other rooms are fine and the accomodation is exactly the same but the garden rooms are on the outer edge of the resort and you might feel a little bit out of it.

Its expensive to get to Barbados and this place gives you the chance to do it on a budget and use it as a base, a lot of the other hotels and appartments are much dearer and they dont give you much more for your money.
You can go to a better hotel in Europe for the same money and have a luxury holiday in comparison but.............its not Barbados.

The rooms and accomodation look a little strange when you first arrive, not the prettiest bungalows that you have ever seen but you soon get used to it. Inside they are clean and tidy and looked after............some people have mentioned the utensils and equipment in the kitchens, well, yes they are well used and if you have a problem ask one of the lovely maids and they will change it and get you a new one......just ask, they wont mind you asking and it will be sorted out straight away.
The kitchens have a Full size Cooker, Fridge Freezer, Toaster, Kettle, Microwave and plenty of pots and pans and utensils.
We have managed to cook anything we wanted and have never had a problem.

The TV in the lounge is not flat screen and looks massive compared to what we are used to nowadays, lm sure they will be upgraded soon but who cares?...........we dont go to Barbados to watch TV..............the staff are more than happy to put the football on for you for an important match if you need to keep up to date on any live sport............ask Dennis and he will change the channel on the satellite and get it for you...........just ask, everyone will happily sort anything out that they can for you.

We never use the Air Con, the lounge and the bedroom have a ceiling fan in each and we are quite happy with that but l am not a great lover of air con and prefer to open up the windows and doors and get a breeze running through.

The lovely maids were very excited to tell us when we were there for the first two weeks in January that all of the rooms are being upgraded and updated.......we have already booked for May and will report back on that next time.

Pretty much everyone that works here has been working at All Seasons for a long time, the staff all take a massive pride in their job and love to make a fuss of you and look after you.
The resort attracts a lot of repeat business and we always meet up with someone thats been before or we met on a previous visit.
That in itself just shows what good value it is and what a nice place to stay.

We had about 12 visitors on our first day this time and they are all so happy to see you again, we both love it and although on occaisions l look at other places to stay near the beach, l always relent and book here again...there is just something about it that makes us choose it time and time again.
Ottilese (one of the maids) made us Banana Bread, Coreen put fresh flowers in our room for when we arrived and we ended up with gifts from so many of them. Cheryl gave us Mauby Syrup to try and they all make such a fuss of us when we arrive, its lovely!

Audy and Dennis ran around for us to sort the Football Channels out for my fella and Darren who was in the bungalow next door.

I have just booked for a week in May and paid £499.00 each for it including flights with BA, need l say more! Bargain and l cant wait to go again. I paid more than that 25 years ago! Its such a brilliant deal and l know what lm getting, l couldnt believe my luck when l saw it and couldnt book it quick enough.

If you are thinking of booking the All Seasons and you are put off by some of the other reports then thats a shame...........you only get what you pay for but in our opinion this is worth more.

This is a lovely, friendly, safe environment to enjoy what Barbados has to offer on a budget. When you first arrive you might think that its a bit of a walk to the beach and you may feel a little bit out of the way. Its not far to walk to the beach and Holetown itself, we enjoy the walk and we have been so many times that we know all the short cuts.

There is not much going on at All Seasons as far as entertainment goes, its very quiet and not best suited to young groups or people looking for night life.

The resort supply a Reggae bus and Dennis will take you down to the Supermarket in Holetown to collect all your supplys to save you having to walk back with them. There are no fixed times and he will happily take you whenever you want.........its free!
The main Supermarket is only about ten minutes walk but it can be a bit of a struggle with a load of shopping in the heat.

St James is a lovely area, some of the best hotels are nearby and you get to use all the same beaches as people that have paid fortunes to stay there. As you can probably tell if you are reading this we havent got a bad word to say about it.........we love it and cant belive that we can do it on a budget
Please ask the staff and they will happily tell you whats going on and where and when and how to do it.
The pace of life over there is so much slower than we are used to, nothing happens quickly. It takes a bit of getting used to but it doesnt take long.

A few people have mentioned that you have to lock your patio doors with a padlock, thats true...l have never really thought much about this until l read what other people had said. This is all due to change soon. The key and padlock are similar to what we would put on our sheds at home, they obviously put these on some years ago and they are more substantial than just using a patio door key..........no big deal to us, but l suppose we are used to it. If you go then you will see what l mean. Apparently some new doors are going to be fitted in the future and there are plans to change this.

Wifi connection around the pool area and some of the bungalows nearby. This time we stayed in room 24 and it would work from here...........its slow though, Barbados style!

If you havent been to Barbados before, try getting on the bus and having a look around......its dirt cheap, around £1 to travel on each bus to the end of the destination and then you get another one.
We went all the way from Holetown to Speightstown, then to Bathsheba, then to Bridgetown and back to Holetown for $12.00Bds - thats around £4.00 each for the whole trip.....bargain bus travel and really good fun.
The Yellow Reggae Buses are an experience (we love them), if you prefer to not have the loud music and then hustle and bustle then go for the Blue ones, these are a bit quieter.

Try a boat trip on a Catamaran to see the Turtles, this is a fab trip and one not to be missed.....the Rum Punch is amazing and the trip is well worthwhile, we have done this many times and always enjoy it.

Happy holidays!

Room Tip: Go for a Pool View.....worth the money

“Not what we expected”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2013

The friendly staff was the highlight of this location. My wife and i have traveled extensively and this was clearly not what we expected. The rooms were outdated with old furniture amenities. The window air condition key pad that was attached to your "room key". (When you left the room, the air condition would cut off after 10 seconds. Upon your return and insertion of the key into the air condition, it would take 10 minutes or so for the room to cool off.) We were given a padlock to secure the door from the outside when were not in the room. There was a "business center" with one computer that was rather slow as well. Minimal activities for residents, and those that existed were not free. We spent three nights and followed the lead of other couples who could afford it. We spent the duration of our stay at an upscale hotel in Bridgetown. An expensive move, but worth it.

Room Tip: Evaluate your options before selecting this facility.
