My Stay at the Turtle Beach Resort, in Barbados was so nice. We had the Top Room, with a great View of the Beach and the Pool. The Choices of Food and Drinks were Great too! Everyone at the Resort was very, very Friendly and the Rooms were Cleaned daily. Great information on Excursions and Activities too!

Me and my fiancé spent 11 nights at this wonderful hotel, we originally booked 4 nights here and 7 at Tamarind, but on leaving here we felt sad to be leaving, so after spending one night at Tamarind we asked if it was possible to return to Turtle Beach, being part of the Elegant group they agreed to let us return, even providing the same room 319 which had a perfect view of the pool and sea. On our return they were so happy to see us, the room had been decorated with swan towels and petals, lovely gesture.. The staff are the most friendliest we have ever met, and we travel to lots of places.
Special mention to Mr Hilary in the restaurant , really friendly, Winston behind the bar, ( Mr Hoare). Hermistas on arrival, and a special mention to Ricky, Antony, Sergio and Dario, the great boys on the beach. We will definitely be returning to this lovely place, even though we don't believe in returning to the same hotel twice. We can't find one fault with this hotel, the people, the surroundings, anything.. Thanks to all the wonderful people we met who made this holiday great fun, John & Elaine. Sheila & Kay, Dave & Jade. Stayed 10 nights with family from 16 January 2013.

HOTEL: Spacious, clean and welcoming.

FOOD: Excellent all inclusive food and drinks. Breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner! You can eat all day! Read previous report criticising choice at lunch and couldn't believe what I was reading! Fantastic choice eg soup, freshly made Wraps, choice of meats, fish, pasta, barbecue meats, pizza, vegetables and various sweets every day! All meals top quality. Choice of restaurants for dinner and again, top quality and better than 5 star hotels I have stayed at. Clearly some people moan for the sake of it. Only criticism from me would be need more salad choices.

Fantastic all inclusive drinks including beer, wen, cocktails and soft drinks.


ROOMS: We had booked 2 Junior Deluxe Ocean View Suites and were given rooms 422 and 423. Great rooms with large balcony and sun beds table and chairs. Great view of sea. Clean and spacious. I think it is worth going deluxe for the extra room.

POOL AND BEACH: 2 large pools, kids pool and jacuzzi. Nice grounds and spotless. Beach was sandy and plenty of sun beds so no rush to put towels on them first thing in the morning. Captain SAMs beach team were great. They organise your sun beds and offer free (non motorised) water sports eg catamaran rides, body boards etc. What a friendly bunch they are. Jet skis etc available at extra cost. We tended to get sun beds on the beach. They even come round and offer you drinks from the bar and take orders so you don't have to move from your sunned! Maradona was great.

STAFF: I have a theory about this. The male staff are more extrovert and will engage in conversation. The female staff are very polite but clearly have been briefed how to deal with customers in almost a shy way. BUT if you engage in conversation with them first they are very friendly and have a good sense of humour.

ENTERTAINMENT: 6 days a week and not too bad at all. Steele band night in Waterfront restaurant was particularly good. For younger customers there is nightlife in the St Lawrence Gap about 15 minutes walk away. Not swish venues but lively. Many people seemed to stay in hotel. Entertainment ends at 10.00.

TRIPS: we went with Virgin and went on their catamaran, swim with the turtles Virgin Ahoy trip which was brilliant. Also went on Harbour Lights beach party where again the entertainment was great.

OVERALL: Would definitely recommend this hotel. Great setting, great food, great beach team and by and large great staff when you get to know them.

We have been to Turtle beach many times , sometimes on our own but usually with our family. First time for us around Christmas and the hotel looked great and they had made a huge effort with decorating everywhere. There were more Christmas trees than b and q have. I always read the reviews about this site on Tripadvisor on a regular basis and while there are lots of people who love it I am not sure any of them have commented on the magic that there is at Turtle Beach. Hard to say exactly what it is - could be great service, great people, great food, great atmosphere - could be Sam and the waterspouts team or is it just everything together that makes this a magic place to visit once, twice three times and more.

Everyone can have their own opinions and not everyone likes the same things but I struggle to understand how anyone can think the staff are rude or not helpful.
