“Best holiday, amazing service and great hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2012 via mobile

We had such a fabulous holiday. We were there for 1 week everyone from our lovely receptionist Crystal, Hermana the portor and lovely Tonya our waitress were great. Both my friend and I travel all over the world and always say life is too short to visit the same place twice but I would definatly come back to Barbados and the turtle beach. We met loads of great people staying there, it wasn't too full so by the end of our week we felt like we knew everyone.
One might after going for a lovely meal at The tides in sandy lane - well worth a visit- we sat with some couples near the beach havng a drink, when captain jack came to show us a turtle laying her eggs which was amazing. They patrol the beaches and call in the conservation groups when eggs are laid on beaches to protect them.

Things worth doing - swimming with turtles, Harrison caves, the tides resturant and hiring a car. I really can't understand why anyone would have anything bad to say about the place. It is clean, food is great and staff are lovely. A holiday is always what you make it but everyone from fellow tourists, the staff and locals made this holiday. Can't wait to go back!

First time in Barbados for me and my family. Just stayed for 1 week. Loved every minute of it.
Room was excellent for me , my husband and teenage son. Beds comfortable, air conditioning necessary.
Found all staff to be very friendly and helpful.
Food was excellent and varied, especilly loved the breakfast and buffet lunch, really suited my fussy teenage son.
Beach was out of this world spent every day by the sea, swimming and sunbathing. Cap Sam's crew the best.
Loved that drinks were delivered by the guy in the scotland cap to the beach.
Would definently go back to this hotel again.

Room Tip: we were in room 115, nice and quiet witha good view of the pool and the beach.

We have recently returned from Turtle Beach, we stayed for 2 weeks from the 8th of September. This hotel ticked all of the boxes whilst looking at the reviews prior to travelling and we noticed it had also won the 2012 award from Trip Advisor for best hotel. We were not dissapointed.

We stayed in 409 which was great as we had a sea view, the room was of a very good standard with A/C and an i-pod docking station which was a good idea. We arrived to a welcome rum punch and surprised to see that the hotel was not even half full which was great as there was loads of room on the beach and you practically could have the pool to yourself.

Excellent sunloungers on the beach with great service from the beach guys, Jet ski's, Hobbie Cats and kayaks available and yes the sea is not suitable for little kids but the waves that come in are really good fun, the sea and the pools are so so warm its unreal. also staff from the bar are great and will come round with fruit and cocktails along with branded drinks such as absolut Vodka and Remy Brandy which was nice to see and the measures were healthy!!

Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, you always recieved a genuine smile and a genuine interest as to how your day had gone, the food was excellent with Chelonia and waterfront doing a la carte and also you had Asiagos for a more intimate affair, you can take a look at the menu at breakfast and then book what time you would like to eat that evening. The house wine was also of good quality, a chilean red or white.

I did read that people had to queue for drinks and dinner etc. but this was not the case when we went the staff told us that literally before we had arrived the hotel was full to capacity due to summer holidays etc. I do not think we would visit here at that time of year so if you can travel out of the holidays then this place is a gem.

Location of the hotel is great and if you fancy a change you just have a short stroll into the gap for bars and shops etc. there is a bus from ther hotel into Bridgetown and a free shuttle to holetown which is worth a visit, hiring a car is superb as well as it is so easy to get around the Island. Things to do would be the Catamaran cruise toi swim with the turtles along with lunch and rum punch, the jeep safari is fantastic fun as they take you to all the places you would not find on your own and the drivers are hilarious also Harrisons Caves and the fish fry on Fridays in Oistins has to be seen to be believed. All trips etc. can be booked through the activites office where we found Randall to be superb and efficient so we didnt need to use our rep.

SMOKING - If like me you smoke then be aware that the hotel is ran by an american company thus they have adopted a smoking policy where you cannot even have a cigarette on your balcony, any sign of this will result in a Bajan $200 fine (£70) this was not a problem as there are places and tables where you can sit and have a cigarette should you need one although there were a group of disgruntled Brits who were not too happy about the balcony situation.

My girlfriend and I had a superb time and we will go back at some time in the future which is unheard for us as we never tend to go back to the same place.

We revisited Turtle Beach this summer and once again had an excellent time. A holiday here is the most relaxing kind of trip we have been on, everything is sorted, food and drinks all of a good standard.

The weather in August was not perfect, well it is the rainy season, and we had a tropical storm on the last day, but all the staff worked tirelessly to keep the hotel running smoothly, so it was fun really.

The rooms have been done up a bit since 2009, which was nice although the common areas are a little more tired. All round it was all fine though. We might go back again,

Room Tip: We stayed on the top floor overlooking the garden and it was nice and quiet. You also get more of a...

Wonderful hotel, totally geared up for families.

we have stayed at the hotel about three or four times, and enjoyed every single time.

our favourite room was room 420.

Excellent food, wonderful staff, great pools. The sea is a bit rough, but still gorgeous!

Just returned from one heavenly week at Turtle Beach. On arrival met by very friendly and welcoming staff and of course the obligatory "first of many" rum punches. Very short admin duties for checking in, then we were shown to our room and introduced to all the facilities by the "bellboy". Had paid for an ocean view junior suite and it was well worth the extra as it was exactly as described overlooking the beautiful beach and sea. We were situated on the third floor and to me this was perfect as the views were better and gave more privacy when on the balcony. We had already been booked into the restaurant for the evening so looked forward to a pleasant meal. Breakfasts and lunches were buffet style and ample choices for all. Lots of local dishes to try together with salads and burgers and hot dogs for the less adventurous. All food was clearly labelled which was a great help. Evening meals were all a la carte and restaurants had to be booked in the morning at breakfast where menus were on display. Choice of three restaurants on site, all equally good. Have to mention the friendliness and helpfullness of all the staff in the hotels. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Drinks were available at all times including main brand drinks. Helpfull advice was always on hand from the reception staff and "bellboys". Decided to use local transport into Bridgetown and local towns which was an experience in itself. For just 2 Barbados dollars you can jump a "white van" and truly join the locals. Give it a try it's fun. All in all this hotel is in a good area, easy to walk around "the Gap", easy access to local transport and very safe, clean and friendly hotel. Entertainment at night is very limited so if you need a bit more "lively atmosphere" you would need to walk down into St Lawrence Gap for that, which is two minutes around the corner.

Room Tip: Preference to us was on third floor as the view of the ocean is superb.

This is the 2nd time we've stayed at this hotel (the 1st time was 10yrs ago, and it hasn't changed one bit), and we wouldn't hesitate to go back. It is situated on a beautiful stretch of beach with free water sports (apart from jet ski), a 10 minute walk into The Gap, (visit Pisces Restaurant there), and a short journey to Oistins, which is a 'must do' on a friday, just for the experience!
The room we stayed in was ground floor, overlooking the pool, very spacious, clean and quiet. Staff are friendly and helpful, and we met some great fellow holidaymakers. Evening entertainment was hit and miss (don't really want to hear a violinist) and would have preferred more salads to hot food at lunchtime.
We visited Daphne's on the West coast, but very expensive, £40 return taxi, and £140 bill for 2 people with free desserts! and it wasn't that fantastic to be honest.
Barbados is a relaxing place, but soooh hot!!
We would definitely recommend this hotel and South coast.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms 127, 128, 129, 130, 131, These were ground floor overlooking the pool, so you could s...
