“Romantic and Relaxing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

My boyfriend and I were pleased with our stay at Sweetfield Manor B&B. We occupied the Bananaquit Room, which is detached from the main house and comes with a swinging day-bed on the patio that overlooks the spacious backyard and pool area. Sweetfield Manor was private, romantic and perfect for our relaxing retreat. Breakfast was a delicious four course experience, and we were accommodated when we asked to sit at the lookout point (even though it meant our server had to climb a set of stairs to get to us). The staff were lovely, and views were pristine, and the overall feel of the place was cozy, luxurious and sexy. I would recommend a fan on the patio, a hospitality suite or shower, and better communication of alcoholic beverages for sale. Overall though, I am very happy we chose to stay at Sweetfield!

Room Tip: For more privacy, opt for the rooms which are detached from the main house (Hummingbird and Bananaqu...

We just stayed 4 nights here. For the price you cannot beat the experience. Though we were told a pick up would happen at the airport, no one was there upon arrival. There were plenty of taxis to take us to the manor so there was no wait whatsoever. Upon arrival we were asked if we wanted a beverage both alcoholic and non alcoholic. We were then asked if we had dinner arrangements and had some made for us. My advice is to let them know your price range and if you want to be at a more touristy locale or one that caters to more locals. If you don't they will just send you to a very touristy location that is high priced. We were in 3 different rooms as there wasn't one room available with consecutive nights for the length of our stay. Our first and favorite room was the Island Room. We stayed there two nights. It is large with high ceilings and very quiet. The mignonette and the captain's room were on the same floor, were very similar rooms and looked very lovely. The second room we stayed in was the Butterfly room which we were not booked in, but was given to us at a cheaper rate since our other room was not available. I would advise not to stay in this room. It is on the bottom floor, very noisy, the bed is very small and not comfortable and the room is tiny. Our last night we stayed in the Hummingbird Nook. The room design is lovely as it has a veranda and is separate from the main house. There is a mosquito net over the bed, however there were lots of mosquitos and it was not efficient. Every morning we were treated to a different 4 course breakfast. You have the option to sit in various areas of the property which is very nice. Overall the staff is very nice and can be helpful if you have questions.

Room Tip: The quietest and largest rooms are in the main house on the top floor with the exception of the carr...

We stayed at Sweetfield for a night prior to a Caribbean Cruise. We were totally blown away with it. What a beautiful and tranquil plantation house, and gardens complete with bird life including peacocks. Rooms with character, wonderful friendly staff, and a stunning breakfast . We loved it so much that we cancelled a booking at another hotel on the Island and stayed again at Sweetfield on our return from the cruise and enjoyed it even more. A great place from which to explore the Island. Why stay at an expensive 5 star hotel. Wow......!!!!

Room Tip: We stayed in both the Plantation House and the out buildings. The latter were more 'fun' wit...

Upon arrival we got a very nice welcome by Michelle the host with a welcome cocktail. The place has a very relaxed vibe and the house is beautifully restored. The room had a nice view and porch on the garden which made us feel directly in peace. The bed was good, airco in the room and the staff was very nice. The breakfast were great from the friendly and always talkative chef. We rent a car so the location was no problem. The only thing I could mention that was a bit less positive was the noise at night of the outside jacuzzi-system and the check-out was not as friendly as our check-in. Basically we gave the key and hardly got a goodbye or friendly face. Nevertheless it's a highly recommended place.

I was absolutely bowled over by this tranquil, relaxing and personal eating experience we had at Sweetfield Manor. We were greeted with the warmest welcome and shown to our table 'alone' in a room of a beautiful plantation estate house. I was accompanied by a pescetarian that does not eat carbs and two quite fussy eaters but Chef Paul Norville accommodated our every need without exception. The customer service was excellent.
We were presented with a four course breakfast that was out of this world. It was well presented, colourful, and truly delicious. My favourite dish was the freshly made apple danish, complimented with a quenelle of vanilla creme fresh, a dusting of cinnamon and accompanied with a miniature glass of freshly pressed apple juice. This was heavenly I assure you!
Chef Paul Norville took time out to show us the grounds of this lovely estate and we enjoyed the fantastic views of the ocean. We also had the opportunity of meeting the resident peacocks.
I must thank Chef Paul and his staff whole heartedly for this absolutely fabulous experience one of which I will revisit every time I am in Barbados.

Room Tip: Just book.....all rooms are beautiful.

I was looking at this venue for a wedding reception and was in love with the look and the experience it would bring to our special day. After much communication over the past couple of months the management allowed the venue to be booked by another party without providing the common courtesy or notification to us and with total disregard to the 2 months of communication and requests for locking in the venue.

The management then asked if we could change our wedding date because they had allowed another party to book the venue the same weekend.

This venue is beautiful and picturesque but the management did not display a level of professionalism, common courtesy and business ethics that would make me recommend using this venue to anyone.

We stayed at Sweetfield two nights in the Hummingbird room which beautiful and romantic, it had its own veranda and a double swing bed on it which was wonderful to chill out on in the evenings. The room overlooks the free form unheated pool and has steps down from the veranda for direct access. It was stunning and a refreshing dip in the humid conditions was a joy. The grounds around the pool and house are stunning. At night its alive with the sound of frogs and crickets and at dawn there is the usual dawn chorus with the addition on a couple of peacocks on an adjoining property. I was lucky enough to take photos of a hummingbird feed from a banana tree flower, it made the visit. The staff that hosted us were wonderful, they worked hard welcoming guests and the breakfast was really interesting and tasty. We loved it!

Very good value for money, its like a luxury boutique private non chain property at very very good value.

Room Tip: I loved the room we had but I am sure the others are amazing too. Other tips: If you are a light...
