We thoroughly enjoyed a very pleasant, relaxing dinner here with another couple and would not hesitate to return, although we did not have an opportunity to do so on this trip. The menu provided lots of choice and the food was of top-notch quality and expertly prepared.
We ended up having three courses, although each couple shared a starter and a dessert. The portions were good; big enough to sate your hunger, but not so large as to leave you over-stuffed. The service was excellent; warm and attentive, while remaining fully professional. There was a good wine list and the wine steward was both friendly and knowledgeable and kept a close eye to ensure our wine glasses were never empty.
While we were not there early enough to get a railside seat, the atmosphere was still enjoyable. It is casually elegant at dinner with lovely breezes coming in off the sea. The prices were on a similar level to The Beach House. We all agreed that while The Beach House is a bit more formal and romantic in terms of setting, overall the food, and particularly the service, was just that much better at Mullins. Not cheap, but good value and highly recommended.
